Bush Recants, Says Terror War Will Be Won (can you say FLIP FLOP?)
President Bush (news - web sites) said repeatedly on Tuesday that the United States will win its war against terrorism, trying to contain political damage from the doubt he expressed a day earlier.

"We may never sit down at a peace table, but make no mistake about it, we are winning and we will win," Bush told 6,500 veterans at an American Legion convention.

"We will win by staying on the offensive, we will win by spreading liberty," Bush told the veterans.

The president was trying to douse the criticism he touched off Monday when NBC aired an interview in which he was asked if the United States could win the war on terror and he answered, "I don't think you can win it."

10. He must be reading Newsmax.
Apparently someone sees the national policy under Bush as being a decent one!
".........message of calm and thoughtful deliberation we have been trying to show we have in delicate matters of foreign policy."
That just doesn't ring true. Calm? Thoughtful? Deliberation? When?

Oh. My. God.

7. We just talked about this at work about 15 minutes ago.
One of my co-workers is part of chimpy's core voters. This guy swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. Funny thing is if a Dem said the exact same words it'd be flip-flopping.

5. This statement doesn't qualify
for either a flip or a flop. BeetleBrain was expressing doubts about something that was a farce to begin with. I've repeatedly objected to the idea of waging a war against an emotion (terror).

1) While I agree that we should do our best to eradicate terrorism, these guys are not the ones to do it. They are complete criminals.

2) They never intended to rid the world of terrorism. They had other plans in mind.

11. Terroism was used as an excuse to conquer and plunder Iraq
now he doesen't know what to say about any real threat. He is probably watching what is happening to the Russians and is trying him himself some wiggle room when that knid of shit starts to happen here.

13. Old Flubadubya strikes again. Wonder if he got pretzel whipped
last night after that huge guffaw. Course the lib'rul media has already let his comment drop from the light of day.
