Keyes calls Cheney's daughter "a selfish hedonist."
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 01:06 AM by FlaIndie
Reported on Drudge (I know, I know) but breaking:

"The essence of ... family life remains procreation. If we embrace homosexuality as a proper basis for marriage, we are saying that it's possible to have a marriage state that in principal excludes procreation and is based simply on the premise of selfish hedonism."

At least we have here a Repub who is willing to show his true colors.

More on it from the Chicago Times:

Keyes' first comments about Mary Cheney came during an interview Monday night on Sirius OutQ, a New York-based satellite station that provides 24-hour gay and lesbian programming.

After Keyes told the hosts that homosexuality is "selfish hedonism," he was asked whether Mary Cheney is a "selfish hedonist."

"Of course she is," Keyes replied. "That goes by definition. Of course she is."

On Tuesday, Keyes defended his remarks, adding that if his daughter were a lesbian, he would tell her she was committing a sin and should pray about it.

guess I should divorce huuby since he got a vasectomy FOR ME.

He was really just a selfish jerk - he probably did it so he could run off with his homosexual lover - and not worry about getting him pregnant.

all of the talk between the right wing fundamentalist Christian conservative republican nuts today?!?

Christian conservative #1: "Did you hear what Keyes said about those filthy fags and Cheney's daughter? Good for him!!!"

Christian conservative #2: "YES I did! It's too bad Keyes is a nigg*r or I'd support his senate run!!"

Christian conservative #1: "I know! Unless you're white and straight and support Bush and a vision of hate and discrimination, you should pack your shit and move to another country and leave us white people alone."

So what about adoption? Is that hedonism? Even if couples elect not to have children...is that hedonism, too? What about selfish people who simply have children to "complete" their lives?

5. I Thought the Essence of Family Life Was LOVE?
I guess I am mistaken.

If this guy thinks marriage is primareily about procreation he's more insane than I thought. Marriage is usually about money, or power, or sex, not wanting to make babies. *ahem, condoms, birth control pills, vasectomies, anyone?*

...Barack Obama's, that is.

I've known people like Keyes all my life: smart people who never bothered to learn how to think. They're so impressed with their own formulations that they never bother contemplating the simple question, "What if I'm wrong?"

What a waste of neurons.

Come to think of it, I forgot to find Mister Right. Well, damn. I've always kind of thought I was a family unto myself ... and that my siblings and their families and I were kind of a family. And that my friends and I were kind of a family. We love each other, we support each other, we'd do anything if the other members of the unit were in trouble ...

Damn. Have I been deluded all along? I was supposed to submit my uterus to the government fetus center to be a bearer of children? I never got the memo!

Gee, thanks, GOP, for letting me know. Now I can go slit my wrists.

You lying, narrow-minded BASTARDS!

Does he really think he is going to get support from the RNC when he is embarrassing the IL delegation and also the top people in the party? Maybe he will want to start another political party as he keeps spending time on radio and other shows or he wants to drum up support/donations for his right wing backers.

I hope this guy loses this Illinois race by the biggest margin in history.
