Cheney Due to Lash Into Kerry in Speech
NEW YORK (AP) - Vice President Dick Cheney was stepping up to denounce Democrat John Kerry's ``confusion of conviction'' after President Bush formally won the Republican nomination for a second term in a carefully choreographed GOP convention roll call.

The second day of the convention brought out thousands of protesters who set out on a march to the convention site, getting in the way of a busload of delegates and engaging in shouting matches with officers around Manhattan. Nearly 1,000 protesters were arrested, and on at least two occasions, police snared unruly protesters with orange plastic netting.

Cheney's speech to the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night sets the stage for Bush's own acceptance speech the following night. The president was to arrive in New York late Wednesday for a meeting with firefighters, making the Sept. 11 connection and the fight against terrorism that has defined his presidency.

(snip)

Cheney will contrast Bush's ``demonstrated leadership and decisiveness versus Senator Kerry's confusion of conviction - both in foreign and domestic policy - that he's demonstrated during his 20 years in the Senate,'' Cheney spokeswoman Anne Womack said.

1. I hope the Kerry campaign gets on this immediately.
Kerry needs to be ready to denounce this speech as soon as it comes out of his sneering face.

3. IMHO - The more the merrier!
Between treating US veterans like children, brandishing the Bush twins lack of intelligence to the world and pushing for Moore´s film, nothing could benefit the liberals more than an over the top Cheney flashing his forked tounge.

I guess this proves the repugs are not as clever as they think.

The best part? The meatprop himself have not spoken yet...

4. Obviously, Cheney has nothing better to talk about
like the Bu$h record, after 4 years in office.

Fear and Smear, that's all these craven bastards have left.

5. This is a big opportunity for Kerry
to slam something back down their throats. Hopefully without droning on about it.

He could talk about Dick "deferment elbow" Cheney, who got out of service due to injuries sustained in writing deferments to get out of service. Or he could talk about deserters, or going AWOL, or illegally running lying, discredited smear-boater ads. Or anything, as long as it's short and negative. Preferrably five words or less.

Just not whining about how the Republicans are being mean would be a major improvement for DLC strategists.

10. Halliburton Dick says Kerry has "confusion of conviction"
and no strong conviction of difference between right and wrong.

Makes the head spin, don't it. . .

But the whole strategy has been to accuse Kerry of their worst faults:

Kerry flip flops
Kerry lied about his military record
Kerry - "results matter" he hasn't accomplished anything
Kerry has no plan!
Kerry is bashing us and is so NEGATIVE!

etc etc etc etc
