Nepal Imposes Curfew in Restive Capital

KATMANDU, Nepal - Nepal's government imposed an indefinite curfew and appealed for calm Wednesday after thousands of demonstrators ransacked a mosque and clashed with police in the capital to protest the slaying of 12 Nepalese hostages by Iraqi militants.

One demonstrator died late Wednesday after being wounded during the clashes, said doctors at the Bir Hospital in Katmandu. Three more protesters were in serious condition.

"We want revenge," the protesters shouted as they stormed the Jame mosque — the only Muslim house of worship in the capital. They broke windows and set fire to carpets, furniture and parts of the building. No one was inside at the time. Police fired tear gas in an unsuccessful attempt to disperse the mob.

"Revenge" on people who live thousands miles from Iraq and have no connection to what happened in Iraq? A more direct connection between Bush being responsible for the murder of the detainees in Abu Gharib than these people in Nepal and Iraq. If you even go 1% for for this "Revenge" rationale then 100% Bush/Cheney should be charged for murder. in Abu Gharib.

It's not Nepalese Muslims to blame. It's the masters of the feudal system in that country that drive their countrymen to flee to distant countries to serve as flunkies to a cruel occupation, just in order to survive.
