Pakistan Arrests 'Important' Al Qaeda Pair
Pakistan Arrests 'Important' Al Qaeda Pair

By Zeeshan Haider
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistani security forces have arrested two "important" al Qaeda operatives, including an Egyptian and a Saudi national, officials said Wednesday.

The pair, Egyptian Abdul Sattar Sharif ul Misri and Saudi national Abdul Hakeem, were arrested in the southwestern city of Quetta Monday, intelligence officials said. State-run Pakistan Television said they were found with explosives.

"These are important people," Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, information minister in Pakistan's outgoing cabinet, told Reuters, adding that ul Misri had a price on his head.

He did not say who had offered the reward for the capture of ul Misri, who is not among the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's most wanted terrorists. Ul Misri means "the Egyptian" in Arabic.

It seems like every time they arrest some brown person whose entire connection with Al Quaeda is that he once washed their clothes its "AN IMPORTANT ARREST".

4. Oooh, right on schedule!
Now someone can work this into Chimpy's speech tomorrow night.

Hmmm, neither one of them on the FBI list, but they're "important" and someone was offering a reward for them. And one of them is a Saudi! Quelle suprise.

that the Pakistanis are doing the American forces job for them arresting these Saudi & Egyptian terrorists in Pakistan.

It means that the 100,000+ American soldiers in Iraq can keep looking for the Iraqi WMDs.

On edit: British sarcasm alert.

6. Sounds like this is the best Pakistan could come up with,
"These are important people," Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, information minister in Pakistan's outgoing cabinet, told Reuters, adding that ul Misri had a price on his head.

Look, Mr. Bush, we looked everywhere, and we just couldn't find any of the big-name guys, and we are tired of our troops getting killed to fight your war and help you win your elections.

Maybe Bush should reevaluate their relationship with Musharraf, this guy is dirty and is playing both sides of the fence. I just finished a book about a guy named Dawood Ibrahim, an Indian who is a terrorist and drup smuggler, and is alleged to have helped Osama slip the noose at Tora Bora, using his heroin smuggling routes on the Paki/Afghan border. This guy lives in complete comfort in Pakistan, and pays the ISI almost 1 billion a year to cover his ass.
