Dean touts 'Dean dozen'
Former presidential candidate Howard Dean - arguably the hardest-working Democrat who's not running for office this fall - told a Madison audience this morning that there's nothing wrong with being a liberal - or better yet, a progressive.

"If you want to win, you have to have a message. And you have to believe in what you're doing," Dean told about 100 activists at a fund-raiser at the Concourse Hotel this morning.

Dean was in town to raise money for the "Dean dozen," 12 progressive candidates for the state Legislature who are being backed by his group, Democracy for America, and another national grass-roots organization, Progressive Majority.

In an interview, Dean said progressives and Democrats need to learn from conservative Republicans, who won control of the White House and Congress because they built successful grass-roots organizations almost two decades ago.

2. Dean is the Energizer Bunny for the Democratic Party
I've always been amazed at his energy and appreciated his genuine concern for average Americans and our democracy.

5. RU reddy fo sum futball?????
Was that a response to the need to pay-off campaign debt or what?

My first impression was,"That's demeaning to the message and all that believed in it." My second thought was...he's got to make choices.

6. Jeff Seeman is on it.
One of our own. Go Jeff!

I was surprised to find out that his opponent Ralph Regula is a prime obstacle in keeping Mt. McKinley from reverting back to it's original name Denali. What is his problem? The national park is named Denali, but I think it's time to restore the mountain's original Athabascan name (the high one).
