Wis. congressman: Kerry never flipped in supporting higher taxes

JR ROSS

Associated Press

NEW YORK - John Kerry has never wavered in his opposition to tax relief for American families, the one area where he has avoided a flip-flop, Republican U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan said Wednesday.

Speaking before the Republican National Convention, Ryan urged Americans to join the GOP in pushing to make President Bush's tax cuts permanent.

He also took a swipe at the two Americas theme Kerry and running mate John Edwards have often incorporated into their stump speeches.

"Anger is not a governing philosophy. Class warfare is not an economic policy. And the politics of division will not make American strong and it will not lead to prosperity," the Wisconsin Republican said in prepared excerpts from his speech.

3. Paris Hilton, of course.
I caught part of that speech. Not an impressive thing to hear, I assure you; nothing but the same old boilerplate -- silly claims about "broad" tax relief, etc.

Oh, and it's the estate tax, not the death tax, you focus-group-following Republican you.

2. Oh No!
Some nothing congressman is attacking John Kerry! How ever will he recover?!

"The politics of division will not make American strong and it will not lead to prosperity"

This coming from a member of a party that supports a constitutional amendment banning gay marrige?

No shame. None at all.

4. These flip flops need to be stopped dead in their tracks. Stump
did a one day flip flop on the war on terra. On DU today was an incredible list of other Bush flip-flops. Call the media and if that doesn't work call the advertisers.
