Bush Prays, and Is Prayed for, Say Republicans (faux)
faux

President Bush prays, he consults scripture; he even plans services on Air Force One when he isn't able to attend church on the ground.

So says a new documentary that points out that yes, Bush is a religious man, and many of his core supporters find that one of his most endearing traits. ..

1. I don't want a religious fanatic telling me what I can and can't do.
Being an atheist doesn't mean I hate religion. But I do despise fanatics.

2. Excuse me while I friggin' throw up!
What, is Faux now a religious channel? If the FCC wasn't paid off by the same freaks, they should deny Fox the right to call their reporting news. It's an opinion channel, and one with bad opinions.

3. Services on AF1? Now a preacher travels with him?
I'll buy off on the story that he prays. Probably that he wins the election! But planning services on AF1? Hmmm

Wonder who this preacher is?

Because he prays makes everything all right? How about believing in the tooth fairy, Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus?

Does he pray for John Kerry and Democrats?

10. I don't mind a religious President
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 08:33 PM by khephra
Carter was a religious President.

What I mind is a religious President who sees things only through HIS vision of what religion is, forgetting that this country isn't monolithic, while breaking down as much of the wall between Church and State that's possible.

That's what I mind.

13. And now a word from our founding fathers
"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What has been its fruits? More or less, in all places, pride and indolence in the clergy; ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."
-- James Madison

"I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved -- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced."
-- John Adams

"They believe that any portion of power confided to me, will be exerted in opposition to their schemes. And they believe rightly: for I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. But this is all they have to fear from me: and enough too in their opinion."-- Thomas Jefferson

"Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise."
-- James Madison

14. Wrong verb and spelling.
Junior preys on the entire U.S. and world populations. He's an AWOL coward, sociopath, liar, cheat, thief, murderer, and fascist war monger and profiteer. And, he wants to destroy the environment of the entire planet, too!

I literally pray he is finally voted out of office on November 2 and is sent (in shame and disgrace) back to Crawford.

What a hypocritical "Christian" this man truly is. No wonder the pope believes him to be the Anti-Christ!

:grr:

16. Where did Barbara and Jenna go to Sunday School?
Every fundamentalist Christian I know insists that their children go to church, Sunday school, vacation Bible school, the works.

Where did the twins go to church? Sunday school?

21. There is no one who needs more prayers than this ignoramus.
He has forgotten about the Bible's lessons, as "Blessed are the peacemakers" or "Thou shall not bear false witness" or "Turn the other cheek" or etc. Bush and his fellow blasphemers are on their way down.
