Poll: Most Find Satisfaction in Their Jobs
WASHINGTON -- A majority of Americans say they find satisfaction in their jobs, according to an Associated Press poll, though many express concerns about job stress, health care and retirement benefits.

Peggy Branan, a 44-year-old nurse in the New Orleans area, is among about half of the population who say they are "very satisfied" with their job.

"I feel blessed to be able to get paid for what I enjoy doing," said Branan, a nurse for 21 years. "I'm very active in my church. My role as a nurse is a way to fulfill my role as a Catholic."

Seven in 10 surveyed said they are paid fairly. Men were more likely than women to feel this way......

Job Market Spotty This Labor Day

(AP) A spotty job market and stagnant paychecks cloud this Labor Day holiday for many workers, highlighting the importance of pocketbook issues in the presidential election.

"Working harder and enjoying it less," said economist Ken Mayland, president of ClearView Economics, summing up the state of working America.

People are working longer hours. As a result, productivity is more efficient, limiting the need for more employees.

But wages and income, adjusted for inflation, are down or flat by most measures. But when benefits such as health care and pensions are included, compensation growth exceeds inflation. Economists say wages will rise as hiring picks up.

Nearly two-thirds of 1,050 full-time workers in a Labor Day survey by Harris Interactive and Kronos Inc. said they have increased job responsibilities in the past six months. One-third said they were working longer hours and 62 percent claimed they had not received a pay raise.

3. Most who had the day off from work when this poll was made,
did indeed feel satisfied about their job. Those slaving away at work were unavailable for comment.

4. I saw that poll on MSNBC
and it was like 51% enjoy their jobs, I don't know if that's much to brag about.....
And they didn't mention anything about all the people that don't even have jobs to complain about.

5. Well...I Hate My Job...
My Boss: You're Fired! If you don't say that you love your job, what are your options? In these difficult times, you got to really, really love your job or you're out in the streets.

It took my neighbor 2 years to get a job, at half what he was making. He's so badly in debt and his health and marriage are suffering. Each day the guy would send out 20 to 25 resumes for a cheap job he was over qualified to do. When he called for the status of his resume, he was told the company had received 200 plus resumes for the one job.

6. "62 percent claimed they had not received a pay raise."
At least I'm not alone. They sure didn't ask me about my job satisfaction. But yeah at least I have one.
