Dean: Take this country back
snip>
"I ask you to take (government) back. "I want you to run for office. I want you to change this country," Dean told an audience of approximately 2,200, mostly Denison students, in the university's Mitchell Center.

"We decide. I don't want a country where one single small group defines what they want for everybody."
...
Dean said that the best way for regular Americans to take power away from large corporations whose big campaign contributions influence politicians is to contribute, en masse, small sums like $50 or $100. He urged people to run for office or become involved in campaigns.

"Everybody says, 'Oh, politics is a dirty business,'" he said. "I'm asking people to run for local offices. If you want this democracy to to work, trust yourself. Democracy is too important to be left to professional politicians. We are more powerful than they are."

Dean accused the GOP of divisiveness and contends that there's a "breed of folks" in Washington who are not in line with what most Americans think about. He also admitted, but did not regret, one mistake in his own campaign: that he did not "kiss butts" among the powerful in Washington who he believes are out of touch with people.

6. Dude is amazing

It is very obvious he gives a shit about the future of our nation.

If he was only in it for political gain he would have vanished long ago. Still, he fights on even though he stands to gain nothing personally from it.

Howard Dean has won me over. I still don't know about a couple of his issues, but because of his character I would feel honored to vote for him at some time in the future.

Give em hell Howard.
