I'm sure this story has been talked about here but I had to add my 2 cents. Here's the link to the story.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/09/05/wus05.xml&sSheet=/news/2004/09/05/ixworld.htmlI was so angry when I read this I sent this letter to the Pentagon!
To Whom It May Concern:
I am outraged that the Pentagon has decided to waste taxpayer dollars to pursue this political campaign against John Kerry. It is an obvious attempt to keep attention focused on John Kerry's 35 year old war record instead of the current mishandling of the United States by the Bush administration! The current administration and it's cronies have done more to dishonor the U.S. than any foul play that may or may not have gone on with John Kerry's medals! Please share with me any rationale you have for pursuing this attack on John Kerry's war record and also share ANY precedent that the Pentagon has for conducting this type of investigation. Also, what precedent are you setting by using the Pentagon's resources in this way? Will the Pentagon now be resonsible for checking into the purple hearts of all our war veterans? How about Bob Dole? I heard his first purple heart was from a self inflicted wound. Can we investigate that? How about the many military deferments for the war hawks of the Bush administration? Can we investigate that? How about Bush's disappearance during his time in the Air National Guard? Can we investigate that? I'm guessing not since those aren't topics worthy of investigation when your focus is purely partisan and political. I am anxiously awaiting your reply.
Sincerely,
I am still ticked but at least i got to yell at somebody!
