Bush Picks Mustard Over Ketchup on Burger
WARRENSBURG, Mo. - If you're a candidate facing the husband of the heir to the Heinz fortune, ketchup isn't the condiment of choice for hamburger — at least not in public.

During his bus tour Tuesday through Missouri, President Bush (news - web sites) stopped for a picnic lunch and loaded his plate with cole slaw, baked beans and a hamburger.

"Don't you want some Heinz ketchup on the burger, Mr. President?" a reporter asked.

Not missing the reference to Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites)'s wife, Teresa Heinz, Bush replied with a smile: "I've got mustard on that, thank you."

Heinz Kerry's name also came up as the Democratic nominee campaigned in Greensboro, N.C., with his daughter, Vanessa

15. wow. someone utilized an entire brain cell to write this crap.
Can someone please explain to me what happened to journalism? If I have to read about Bush not eating ketchup or renaming his french fries or see pictures of his adult daughter sticking out her tongue or any other idiotic banter and/or behavior, I'm going to scream!

This Deb woman, the person responsible for this "article" owes her journalism professors a HUGE apology. And if her parents paid for college, they should demand their money back.

28. Talk about lowering the bar!
Bush chooses mustard over ketchup, and it shows up on yahoo news via AP?

:wtf:

Kerry speaks on policy to a huge crowd for 45 minutes, and gets 5 seconds on the news.

Next:
AP: Bush finds lost car keys
AP: Bush ties shoes with minimal help

And btw, if Heinz foods corporation continues to donate to BushCo after all this, they are as foolish as working class Republicans.

47. It might be a Texas thing
I have noticed here that a local hamburger chain does not put ketchup on its burgers- you have to ask for it, unlike national chains like McDonalds. I have also discussed this with people I work with and they don't put ketchup on hamburgers either. To me that is weird. Ketchup (and mustard) for hamburgers along with other toppings and mustard for hotdogs or brats.
