5. It would appear they think we've got a long way to go

since we were able to waste over 50,000 American souls in VietNam, not to mention the lives of millions of citizens already there.

I think _Bush through the maneuvering of his Neocon perverts has been able to reach through to the most malignant level of festering rage within the society, and create an actual wish for imaginary revenge which can only be satisfied by the bloodletting of others, never their own, of course!

I also believe if he can find a way to do it, he wants to open a river of Latin American blood as well, to give him the well-rounded warrior feeling he craves when it's safely too late to serve in war himself, and take the actual risks personally. I think this much hatred and disrespect of human beings different from him is a spiritual disease.

4. It is hard to feel sorry for

militarististic people. They live by the bomb and die by the bomb. It is what is expected to happen to them. Furthermore, most of them still support * as blindly as did the storm troopers Hitler during the early stages of World War II.

To admit misgivings would be to imply that their impending deaths and grievous injuries will be in vain. It is not in human nature, much less the inhuman nature of a soldier mindlessly carrying out illegal orders, to think in such terms.

"A republic, madam, if you can keep it," Ben Franklin said to the lady inquiring what kind of government the fledgling U.S. had decided to adopt. We didn't keep it.

I do not apologize for being against this futile empire. I am still waiting for the militarists to apologize to me for wasting hundreds of billions of dollars of this nation's tax base in exchange for absolutely nothing, except maybe a police state. No, thanks. I support our local police, but we do not need a re-creation of Nazi Germany on American soil.

The federal leviathan will continue to gobble us up both at home and abroad until it is either defeated or it collapses financially. Eisenhower's prophetic warnings have come true with a vengeance.
