WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie today announced that author Peggy Noonan will join the staff of the Republican National Committee as Senior Advisor to the Chairman beginning this week.

"Peggy Noonan is a Republican legend. I'm grateful she's agreed to lend her vast talents to the Republican National Committee for the last months of this election cycle. Peggy is one of the most gifted writers of our generation. It's an honor to have her on our team as we work to deliver our message in the coming crucial months of the election," said RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie.

A month ago Noonan took a leave of absence from her work as a contributing editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal to work as an unpaid volunteer in the 2004 election effort. Since then she has worked on the Republican National Convention in New York.

She is the author of bestselling books and has been a frequent guest on television news shows. Her essays have appeared in Forbes, the Readers Digest and the New York Times. Noonan was a special assistant to President Ronald Reagan, working with him on many of his speeches, and was speechwriter to Vice President George H.W. Bush when he ran for president.

She is a member of the board of the Manhattan Institute, and lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. She is the author, most recently, of "A Heart, A Cross, And A Flag: America Today," (Wall Street Journal Books), a collection of her essays following the attack on American on September 11, 2001. Her first book, "What I Saw at the Revolution: A Political Life in the Reagan Era," was published in 1990. "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" (1994), "On Speaking Well" (1998), "The Case Against Hillary Clinton" (2000) and "When Character Was King" (2001), all followed.

Before entering the Reagan White House, Noonan was a producer at CBS News in New York. She was an adjunct professor of journalism at New York University.

13. Indeed. She's a true sleazebag - as smarmy as they get.
There's little doubt she's been so since puberty.

12. I disagree.
In my mind, Noonan is the originator of modern "spin." She turned Reagan's disastrous PCH speech into a "push."

...and we're still spinning, 20 years later.

9. Peggy Noonan writes the sappiest shit I've ever read.
Where will all the media brouhaha be about the "shakeup in the troubled Bush campaign?" I doubt you'll see any.

10. Maybe now she won't have time to write those grotesque editorials.
I get nauseous just seeing her byline. I made the mistake of reading one of them and it sounded more like pulp romance novel. I half expected her to write in one of her articles, "Bush ripped open my bodice and then thrust his bulging manhood against me.":D

11. Bwaaahhaaaaaa!
This is the best news yet. Noonan has clearly stopped taking her meds, as shown in her July 1 article about the "juicy flowers" and the presidency being "an emollient lubricant" and how "the war is just too exciting". The woman is BONKERS. Let her write ALL of Dumyas speeches, please-OH-pleeeeeeze.
If you missed her repressed sadistic-sexual rantings:
