Bobby Muller in CNN interview: Bush's service is a matter of CHARACTER!
(Mod's, hope this is latest. Just saw this on CNN)

CNN interview with Bobby Muller and a Conservative whose name I didn't catch. I think Muller just became a new hero of mine.

Muller slammed Bush getting his TANG position through special connections, slammed his going AWOL, slammed him for disobeying orders, not reporting for duty and not getting a physical as ordered, slammed him for his honorable discharge despite all of the above, and most of all, slammed Bush for dodging Vietnam when Muller and many others were going there and, in many cases, dieing.

He then slammed Bush, comparing Kerry's reaction in combat (turning his boat around and meeting the enemy head on) vs Bush freezing for 7 minutes and continuing to read "My Pet Goat."

Muller was right on every count, he was adamant, and he said so many things I've been hoping someone, ANYONE would have the courage to say, ie: THE TRUTH.

The Conservative, btw, just wilted at the end and resorted to showing bumper stickers. Most promimently the anti-Bush on saying "Bush/Cheney: Most Hated World Leaders Since Hitler." I think he wanted that to paint Dems in a bad light, but after Mullers blast of truth, I think many people might just accept that bumper sticker at face value.

Bobby Muller, :yourock:

10. Springsteen wrote "Born in the USA" about Muller
He's the cool rockin daddy in the USA.

Oh, yeah--in addition to his work with Vietnam Vets, he's co-recipient of a Nobel Prize for his work in removing landmines--a cause he took up after he became a parapalegic in the war.

I'd say he's got pretty good credibility, yep.

14. Bobby Muller...
was the first person I ever saw on TV ACTUALLY talk about PNAC. It was right before "Shock & Awe", and the Veterens for Peace held a press conference with Daniel Ellsberg.
Muller came out swinging (metaphorically). He IS heroic. There must be tape of that press conference somewhere. When he and Ellsberg talked about PNAC implementing their 10 year old plans for world domination, I started tearing up. I swear. It was the first time someone I didn't know (or DU people) was talking openly about PNAC, and it made me feel sane again...

2. Earlier this evening I posted that the real character issue is his lies
about having released ALL his records. We have heard that 4 times now. And there are still more documents that AP or the Boston Globe will have to sue to have them see the light of day.

8. More information has been put together
I can't say more information was released by the WH.

Go to Atrios' blog or Daily Kos' blog or Google for Lukusiac and get the whole story. Bush did not get an honorable discharge. He refused to obey a direct order. He did not serve at all in that missing year and a half. And he did a lot of lying to confuse the issue.

Again, Bush thought he was above the law. He thought TANG rules were only for the underlings, not for members of the upper class.

He has been lying about this for around 10 years or more, ever since he first ran for public office in Texas. (That was a Congressional race he lost). But he did get elected as Governor some years later.

'course he never actually got elected as President.

21. The "honorable discharge" evidence is crucial.
Who, specifically, issued his "discharge"? When? Where?

that the Repubs want to avoid at all costs. More reason to
keep it front and center.

16. I wondered the same thing - then had to google -
Bobby Muller and Ron Kovic were vet/friends. Kovic wrote the best seller. It may have been autobiographical.
