Nader's September Schedule Tells All
Greens for Impact - Common Dreams

WASHINGTON - September 9 - Greens for Impact, a committee of elected officials and Green Party leaders, is dismayed to see that Ralph Nader's campaign schedule for September consists almost completely of battleground states, where his presence could aid in re-electing George W. Bush. From September 11th through September 18th, Nader will be stumping in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Colorado. This route cannot be coincidental and it in fact belies claims he made when first announcing his presidential candidacy: "This is a campaign that strives to displace the present corporate regime of the Bush administration."

On September 3, 2004, Ralph Nader's campaign issued a press release deconstructing President Bush's spin machine, entitled "Bush Rhetoric and Reality Are Two Different Things." Following this model, Greens for Impact seeks to figure out what could possibly motivate Nader to visit every swing state. Our analysis indicates: "Nader Rhetoric and Reality Are Two Different Things." ..

1. screw Nader.
Those who vote for him would not have voted for Kerry anyway

Just like the insane logcabin repugs, they won't endorse bush, but at the same time they won't vote for kerry

9. I agree. The fact that Nader can't get on the ballot
might be pissing them off, so they won't vote for Kerry anyway.

Just a hint.

8. People come here to blow off some steam.....
And believe me, if anyone can cause a head of steam, it's that egomaniacal would be spoiler, Ralph Nader who has decided to betray his enter career by selling out.

Get over it.

18. If this constitutes blowing off steam
then we are in serious trouble. Get over it? Right. Get professional help.

27. If Nader fans can't see the reality of the situation...
...then they are beyond professional help. If this were an ideal world, this country would be split in half...one half for the Democrats, and one half for the Nadepublican party. Us Democrats shouldn't be forced to live amongst facism the Nader people helped create!

10. why doesn't he just throw his support to Kerry/Edwards
already. Edwards and Nader are on the exact same wavelength re trials lawyers and many other issues and I really would like to see Nader's % go to Kerry/ Edwards. I don't want to see a replay of you know what.

11. He has no intention of supporting Kerry/Edwards.
Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 11:41 PM by lizzy
His only intentions seems to be to hurt them. He could have told his supporters to vote for Kerry and Edwards. Instead, he is filing lawsuits to get on ballots which makes his supporters mad because in many cases he can't get on ballots. The fact is, he is going to hurt Kerry even if he doesn't get on ballot.

13. "He could have told his supporters to vote for Kerry ...."
I am hoping, maybe against hope, that he does. He knows he can't win and I understand his points that Washington has to be cleaned out, but I am hoping he gets a flash of inspiration maybe a week or two before the election and says if I don't help Kerry, we may get Bush again.

19. I don't think there is a chance in hell of this happening
Even Greens are pissed off at him for what he is doing. He truly is an egotistical maniac. Maybe Bush promised him he will invite him to dinner after an election. What a jerk!

24. I know a fair number of people who are going to vote Nader
because they are sick of the corruption in Washington (both parties) and because they got fed up with Clinton re Monica and Kerry voting that first yes to give Bush support for Iraq. They are very angry thatso many Dems went along with Bush on that one vote. They can't be convinced they are throwing their vote away. (sigh)

20. Maybe John Kerry and the DLC are the egotistical asses.
All Kerry would have to do is promise Nader a nice position in his administration, and we Ralph Nader supporters would be more than happy to throw our vote his way. But JFK is too much of a numbnuts to do anything that smart.

They had a meeting, didn't they?
Don't you think it's possible Nader refused whatever it is John Kerry could have offered him?

16. I saw a Corvair last year:
Totally restored - just fantastic looking.

It had a "personalized" license plate:

"SCRW NADR"

I thought it was hilarious!

23. Priceless!
Thanks for your post!

:hi:

BTW, I once rode in a brand new corvair in 1960...with my Dad. We actually drew onlookers! At the time, it was quite startling and revolutionary. But, I was a 12-year old kid. What did I know?

:D
