Rumsfeld Mixes Up U.S. Foes Saddam and Bin Laden
"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld mixed up al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein twice in a speech on Friday about the war against terrorism"

"Saddam Hussein, if he's alive, is spending a whale of a lot of time trying to not get caught. And we've not seen him on a video since 2001, Rumsfeld said."

2. I had a student make a similar mistake
In my class yesterday one student said that we captured the president of Iraq, Osama bin Laden. Another student said he supported the war in Iraq because Saddam paid money to the 9/11 hijackers.

People this ignorant are usually used as cannon fodder by the war planners when the time comes to bring back the draft.

8. Perhaps, but senility is no reason to start an unprovoked war!
If the pResident weren't an unelected drunk he could've stopped him.

11. When you become a pathological liar, you can no longer tell the difference
between your lies and the truth.

That, obviously, has happened to this War Criminal.

I only hope he lives long enough to be in a dock in the Hague and to be convicted for his horrific deeds.

12. Fruedian slip?
Could be that that he got confused because we have both and the unconscious let the cat out of the bag. Especially since his closing line ""I did. I meant we haven't seen Osama bin Laden." sounds like cover to me.

13. Hmmmm,...cornered "RATS",....
,...their deception is catching up with them,...perhaps.

The pressure of being full-fledged war criminals,...having "used" the blood and treasure of American people,...might be weighing a bit heavy upon their human beings.

I'd like to imagine such conscience,...but, I know better than to grant any such principles upon those who would arrogantly dismiss all rules of law in their path.

They are sociopathic.

15. Rumsfeld did this on purpose
I feel sure about this. Their lies are becoming more blatant. If the press mentions that this is wrong then Rumsfeld will say he "misspoke."

Meanwhile, he gets away with a blatant lie designed to make BushCo look good and justify an unjustifiable war.

18. Saleslady at work just a couple of months ago was convinced
that Osama had been captured, but bin-Laden was still on the loose.
This is an example of what makes up shrub's base.
When I asked, she guessed that "4 or 5" of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqis. She got mad at me and the liberal media when I tried to explain.
This was just a couple of months ago, mind you. Kinda spooky...
