Chen shooting probe nets gunsmiths - TW

In what could prove to be a major breakthrough in the investigation into the attempted assasination of President Chen Shui-bian (???) on March 19, Tainan police yesterday arrested three suspected illegal weaponsmiths and discovered that pistol bullets they possessed matched the two bullets recovered from the shooting.

The three people were identified as Yeh Ho-chiang (???), 38, Chen Keng-hung (???), 33, and Huang Chin-shou (???), 43. The police arrested them at their underground weapons factory in Yungkang City, Tainan County, and recovered more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition, 20 pistols and numerous other pistol parts -- all homemade -- at the scene.

According to the police, Yeh, Chen and Huang made only a nominal effort to conceal their factory. When the officers arrived, the suspects did not make any attempt to close the door of the factory or to conceal the ammunition and weapons, which were clearly visible and scattered throughout the premises.

This is a country where guns are illegal. I wonder if that happens to have anything to do with Taiwan is about the most wonderful places on Earth? I dare any person to say they haven't daily seen children 5 to 11 years old walking the streets at night alone! There are no slums. No unsafe areas in the entire country. If you were President of the USA and you had the choice between the former or letting the NRA control America and the trillion$ we spend on law enforcement, lawyers, DA, judges, prisons... what would you choose? Yes, there was some pollution/traffic problems years ago under the Mainland Murderous Butcher Fascist Invaders from Mainland China but as soon as Chen was elected mayor of Taipei City the entire country was slowly forced to clean up. I remeber when the sun never shown and the blue sky was rarely to be seen but for the last 3 years it's almost getting like Hawaii. Next step is to clean up the beaches and sea.
