Chechen Fighters Offer Bounty For Putin
Chechen fighters promised today to give $20 million to anyone helping them capture Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Yesterday, the Russian government offered $10 million for information that would help track down the two main Chechen leaders, Aslan Maskhadov and Shamil Basaev.

A statement on Chechen resistance websites says the award is offered to countries, organizations, or individuals who help the "Chechen Republic" in detaining "the war criminal Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin."

Maskhadov has denied involvement in the hostage taking. Basaev has not yet commented, but experts say the attack showed signs of his leadership.

13. If a person doesn't hang on this board like a rock they end up missing...
things that happen. I am thinking you might be refering to Neo-Con support for Chechen separatists (I hate these black and white hats). Who wants to debate this War on Terror is total BULLSHIT?

US neo-cons: Kremlin is ‘morally’ to blame for the school massacre

By Neil Mackay

WHY would a group of leading American neo-conservatives, dedicated to fighting Islamic terror, have climbed into bed with Chechen rebels linked to al-Qaeda? The American Committee for Peace in Chechnya (ACPC), which includes Pentagon supremo Richard Perle, says the conflict between Russia and Chechnya is about Chechen nationalism, not terrorism.

The ACPC savaged Russia for the atrocities its forces have committed in the Caucuses, said President Vladimir Putin was “ridiculous”, claimed Russia was more “morally” to blame for the bloodshed than Chechen separatists and played down links between al-Qaeda and the “Chechen resistance”.

The ACPC’s support for the Chechen cause seems bizarre, as many of its members are among the most outspoken US policymakers who have made it clear that Islamist terror must be wiped out. But the organisation has tried to broker peace talks between Russia and Chechen separatists.

The ACPC includes many leaders of the neo-conservative think-tank, Project for the New American Century (PNAC), which advocates American domination of the world.

ACPC members who are also in the pro-Israeli PNAC include Elliott Abrams, head of Middle East affairs at the National Security Council; Elliot Cohen of the Pentagon’s Defence Policy Board; Frank Gaffney, president of the conservative Centre for Security Policy; Robert Kagan and William Kristol of The Weekly Standard, the house journal of Washington neo-cons, and former CIA director James Woolsey. Former Reagan defence secretary Caspar Weinberger is also in the ACPC.

5. A bounty was once put on the head of an American President
This happened in the late 1850s when conservative racists were trying to trample all over democratic principles and the rights of free men in Kansas, and were not only commiting massive vote fraud but were murdering people to do it (and in fact as corrupt and illegitimate as the 2000 election was, the Kansas debacle was a great deal worse).

John Brown refused to take this and struck back, so President James Buchanan (a Northerner, but so deeply beholden to the Southern slave power that he ended up alienating his fellow conservatives in the North) put a price of $250.00 on John Brown's head. When John Brown heard of this he retaliated by offering a bounty of $2.50 for the head of James Buchanan.

11. Nope, Buchanan went on effing things up
His own party chose not to renominate him though, and Abraham Lincoln got stuck cleaning up his mess.

How much for the murderers of these children, or the 40,000 other Chechen children?

There should not need to be a bounty on Putin's capture, for it is an abominable hypocrisy that this vicious mass murderer is not only forgiven and overlooked for these vast crimes, but indeed aided and praised for them by the so-called free & civilized world.

12. Why must children be the victims of
adult assholes?

Putin should be punished, those Chechens responsible for the attack on the school should be punished.

Maybe the children should be in charge instead of these pigheads.

15. They get in the way

At any rate, it would seem that Commander Basayev is denying a part in this. He reportedly called the seizure of the school "an inhuman act for which there can be no justification". That is, I don't believe it was Chechens as behind this. As has been suggested by some other facts and statements, this is something far beyond Chechnya and Basayev even (no small accomplishment). It is very strange from the start, because even if considered as within the tendency of past 'similar' events it is very different from them.

(not necessarily a response to just you, but passing on this information in a bit I just read at lenta.ru, sorry no English version, and some other thoughts I've had bouncing around in wait of an outlet)
