Powell: N. Korea Blast Not Nuclear Event
WASHINGTON -- The United States does not believe that a large explosion in North Korea was related to the communist country's suspected nuclear weapons program, President Bush's foreign policy advisers said Sunday.

"There was no indication that was a nuclear event of any kind. Exactly what it was, we're not sure," Secretary of State Colin Powell said.

... nothing to see here... our popular wartime preznit has Kim Jong-Il under control... please move on...

1. Wait a few days
This is one of those stories that will need the 72 hour truth test. If countries outside the US (like Japan, Canada, and the Scandinavian countries) start picking up increases in radiation, they will publicise it.

If we don't hear news of sudden increases in radiation, we'll know a bunch of conventional weapons scientists and manufacturers blew themselves up.

6. The blast happened on Thursday.
Nuclear fallout would already have been detected in South Korea or Japan.

3. It seems that Condoleezza Rice was responsible for that one
"There are all kinds of reports and all kinds of assessments that are going on. Maybe it was a fire -- some kind of forest fire."

8. Second HUEUEUEUGE explosion to rip North Korea this year
Back on April 22, there was a huge explosion that may have killed thousands in Ryongchan. It's noteworthy that it happened at about the time Kim Jong-Il was supposed to be passing through town.

Now this. And some reports say that a big-ass crater remains where an underground weapons facility was located.

Could it be that one of Kin Jong-Il's own people has "gotten religion" and is attempting to oust the diminutive dictator?
