U.S. air strikes on Falluja kill 7 (incl. women and children)
FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters)

U.S. forces have launched air strikes on the Iraqi town of Falluja, killing at least seven Iraqis, including women and children, a doctor says.

Iyad Mohamed of Falluja Hospital said 10 other Iraqis had been injured in Monday's strikes on different parts of the town, just west of Baghdad.

Witnesses saw black columns of smoke rising over Falluja and said hundreds of families had begun leaving the town, which is under the control of insurgents fighting U.S. forces and the American-backed interim Iraqi government. ..

1. Ok the US Press is coveirng more of this
now I must ask... why all of a sudden the wires full of these kinds of stories? (And yes we may be in the middle of Tet)

Sorry to ask but these days I need to ask, what is their agenda as covering news stopped being their goal in life a long time ago

Oh and disclaimer this is a tragedy, but we still need to ask, why are the wires doing this?

4. MSRNC....
spent less than 2 minutes at the 5:00 AM ET hour on events in Iraq! I am still astonished at the lack of coverage given the huge increase in loss of life over the last three months. The wires may be full but the tv "news" is doing their best to ignore it.

I agree, it certainly seems a Tet like offensive is happening!

3. Doctors? Witnesses? Without video footage of this event
It's highly doubtful that it actually occurred.

Suspected Militant Hideout Bombed in Iraq

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040913/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq&cid=540&ncid=716

<snip>

Witnesses said the bombing targeted the city's residential al-Shurta neighborhood, damaging buildings and raising clouds of black smoke.

Dr. Adel Khamis of the Fallujah General Hospital said at least 16 people were killed, including women and children, and 12 others wounded. An ambulance rushing from the area of the blasts was hit by a shell, killing the driver, a paramedic and five patients inside the vehicle, said another hospital official, Hamid Salaman.

"The conditions here are miserable — an ambulance was bombed, three houses destroyed and men and women killed," the hospital's director, Rafayi Hayad al-Esawi, told pan-Arab Al-Jazeera television by telephone. "The American army has no morals."

Witnesses said U.S. warplanes repeatedly swooped low over the city and that artillery units deployed on the outskirts of the city also opened fire. The explosions started at sunrise and continued for several hours.

One explosion went off in a market place in Fallujah as the first sellers had just begun to set up their stalls, wounding several people and shattering windows, witnesses said.

7. I feel sick...
This is like some sort of race to see who can kill more civilians, the insurgents or the US Military.

8. I feel so fucking safe now! The US killed a "terrorist" Garbage Collector!
Every fucking day brings more anger and outrage than I thought I could take....

9. Al-J: US air attack on Falluja kills civilians
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/19287CF7-A5CE-4D8F-988B-F3CB37B6F1FF.htm

<snip>
Seven people, including the driver of an ambulance, were killed when US aircraft fired a missile at the vehicle while it was transporting casualties near the northern gate of the city, Aljazeera has learnt.

"Every time we send out an ambulance, it gets targeted," Dr Rafea al-Isawi, director of Falluja hospital, told Aljazeera.

"How are we going to transfer casualties? This is unreasonable. The US army has no ethics.

"Shame on our government that cannot protect the people," he added.
