Bush Signals Softer Approach to U.N.
Vomitous BS alert....

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040918/ap_on_el_pr/bush&cid=694&ncid=716

<snip>

In his weekly radio address Saturday, Bush previewed the speech he's to deliver to the U.N. General Assembly in New York. Tuesday's speech will strike a different tone from his address to the world body last year, which emphasized anti-terrorism and postwar Iraq (news - web sites).

"This week, I will speak in New York to the United Nations (news - web sites) General Assembly, and I will talk about the great possibilities of our time to improve health, expand prosperity and extend freedom in our world," Bush said in the broadcast, aired as he spent the weekend at his family's seaside home.

He said he will not back down in confronting terrorists, but he blended that message with talk of humanitarian causes.

"Our country is determined to spread hope and economic progress and freedom as the alternatives to hatreds, resentments and terrorist violence," the president said. "In hopeful societies, men and women are far less likely to embrace murderous ideologies."

the republicans collectively said "thanks, Kerry," and stole his.

3. I doubt anyone will buy it
Even if it does turn out to be a step up from his "Yer jus' lucky we don't invede you nex'" attitude. The Enemy of the People just isn't a popular guy right now, and neither are we by association.

4. Heads up! He will "be taking reporters questions" on Thurs.!
<Bush will sit down with Allawi in the White House on Thursday, to be followed by questions from reporters. Bush has not answered questions publicly since he talked to reporters at his Texas ranch on Aug. 23.>

LOL.... I am sure they will be pre-screened.

6. Suble statesman PR spin is absurd on its face
All experts agree, talk is cheap, the world judges by his acts...this is the problem with the Rove spin machine, its effectiveness terminates at the border.

This claptrap is intended for the domestic audience only, just like Powell's lying speech to support the fraudulent war in Iraq.

Nobody abroad believes this jackbooted militarist.

9. Bush's "compassionate side of his foreign policy" is so similar...
to his "compassionate conservatism". He appears to utilize the "compassionate" word only when he wants something; not that he ever makes a verbal commitment that he can't break. In 2000, he promised the American people a more "compassionate conservatism", in 2004, he offers the world community a "compassionate side of his foreign policy". I hate to diminish the gullibility of the American people, but, I would believe that the international community would be much more skeptical about the empty words he utters.

:spank:

11. flippity floppity
Flippity...

We love the U.N.

Floppity.

The U.N. is the polygon of evil.

Flippity...

The U.N. hates our freedoms.

Floppity.

The U.N...good organization. Good heart.

Fliiip...

We will now call the United Nations the United Evildoers.

Floop.

Let us praise the U.N. and all our allies.

Flip...

We don't like the United Nations anymore. In fact, from now on, the word "Nations" will be replaced in the English language with the word "Freedoms." For example, say "America is the greatest of all freedoms" or "We support the sovereignty of all freedoms."

Flop.

We embrace the United Nations. We would support them at the whim of a hat.

13. This guy is severely schizophrenic. I don't think he even knows what
he's saying, let alone how friggin' ridiculous his statement are from one day to the next.

This fact alone should scare the hell out of everyone. But apparently a large portion of this country don't find his extreme mental problems and his habit of saying one thing one day, another thing the day after a problem.

As his professor said, they guy is just a pathological liar.

15. Who's going to bail out Little Boy Bush this time? DADDY!
I'm guessing the new approach is on hands and knees.

Suddenly it seems like a bad date. He comes home sheepishly to his dad. "Sorry, I crashed the car. Again." That's ok son. We're rich.

17. What, now he's going *sensitive*?
What a crock.
He said this in his SOTU in 2001 about all the aid going to Africa for AIDS, then promptly cancelled the aid to any clinics that dared to think the word "abortion" alngside their family planning counselling. For a lot of Africans that meant a death sentence because many of these "clinics" were the only health care facilities available for hundreds of miles. If you were carrying a child infected with AIDS wouldn't you think the word "abortion"?
