Fahrenheit 9/11 Soundtrack
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 02:31 AM by samwisefoxburr
September 20, 2004 - On October 5th Epic/Sony Music Soundtrax will release Songs And Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11 and album that was executive produced by filmmaker Michael Moore. The album will feature 12 classic politically charged anthems, plus two new original tunes.

"Though the songs on this album aren't 'mine,' I feel them in me, and they urge me on to do the work we all need to do. I hope they have the same effect on you."

Songs And Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11 will feature music by the likes of Little Steven, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, System Of A Down, Pearl Jam, Dixie Chicks, John Fogerty, The Clash, Steve Earle, Black Eyed Peas featuring Justin Timberlake, Nanci Griffith and Jeff Buckley, along with new songs by former Rage Against The Machine front man, Zack de la Rocha, and The Nightwatchman (Audioslave's Tom Morello).

<snip>

Sony BMG Music is donating one half of its net profits from U.S. sales of this CD to the Fallen Patriot Fund, the charity selected by Michael Moore. The Fallen Patriot Fund of the Mark Cuban Foundation was established to help families of U.S. military personnel who have been killed or seriously injured in the current Iraqi conflict. All funds raised go directly to the families.

Read the rest.

The entire album is already available on iTunes. I bought "We Want it All" and love it! I'm going to buy the rest of the album in physical form when it is released.

1. Sounds pretty cool.

Dylan, Jeff Buckley and la Rocha at least. Pearl Jam is kinda 'fun' but not all that.

It's funny, but personally, I think the Passion of the Christ Soundtrack was way more dope. Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave rocked that shit.

Justin Timberlake and the BEP, please, that's just pathetic.
