<snip>

ROME (AP) - A woman was killed Wednesday when a nearly 7-foot-tall metal crucifix fell on her head in a small town in southern Italy, police said.

I have no idea what to say here.

Except I feel terrible for her and her family.

:scared:

4. Im sorry ....
I want to make a joke, but it would be so wrong ....

Right ? ....

Er ... on a similar note: did anyone watch 'The Amazing Race' last night ? ....

I am guessing Jesus did not want the younger christian couple to win ..... I know he was helping them run faster and jump higher and all: But he certainly didn't help with the snow bike ....

Selective Blessings .....

Now: back to this thread: .... gotta be scary to see a 7 ft 500 pound Jesus comin down upon your head .....

Can you say "Fear of the Lord" ?

10. This is sad, but it reminds me of something that is funny
When I was a kid, one of my friends went snooping in her parents' closet for her X-Mas presents. A tablet of the 10 Commandments fell off the shelf right on her head (no injury involved). She said God must have been sending her a message.

In retrospect, I think her parents knew she was going to snoop and rigged it that way!

13. Was this 7-foot-tall metal crucifix totally made of copper?
Or did it have some iron in it?

15. If they had called the exorcist on time, this might not have ever happened
This may be the most ironic instance of a cross killing a devotee.

16. I'm waiting for the outrage...
I was frowned upon for nominating a guy the other day on another thread for the Darwinian Awards when he was killed after climbing under his car to free it from some trees he ran over. So, I will just wait for the "overseers" on this board to yell at you all for your lack of understanding, compassion, and concern for this woman.

I do feel terrible for her family, and the irony is all the worse. But, again, this wouldn't have made the news had she just slipped and fallen down a flight of stairs killing herself. A death is only a tragedy when it is ironic, funny, or spectacular. This was is only ironic. Toss in funny AND spectacular, and you've got headlines, baby!!
