Freedom on the March in Iraq, Bush Tells Voters
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040916/pl_nm/campaign_bush_dc&e=1

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) said on Thursday freedom was on the march in Iraq (news - web sites) even as a U.S. intelligence report depicted a bleak outlook for the country's future.

Bush insisted the U.S. strategy in Iraq, where more than 1,000 U.S. troops have died, was working as he campaigned in Minnesota, a traditionally Democratic state that Republicans are targeting in the Nov. 2 election.

"In Iraq, there's ongoing acts of violence," Bush told a rally here. But he added, "Freedom is on the march," emphasizing his campaign image as a "war president" in the election battle against Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites).

Bush spoke after details of a classified report by the Central Intelligence Agency (news - web sites) surfaced which outlined a grim future for the U.S.-occupied country.

The document, which was prepared for Bush in July, cited a worst case scenario of a slide into civil war and said the most optimistic outlook involved continued instability and security concerns, according to officials who have seen the report.

Bush did not mention the intelligence report in his speech at the rally but White House spokesman Scott McClellan said he disagreed with its pessimistic assessment.

"The Iraqi people are proving that those scenarios are wrong by the progress that they are making to build a better future," McClellan told reporters.

29. in fact, the battle at Shibboleth was caused by pronounciation:
the Ephraimites said "Sibboleth" because "sh" wasn't in their vocabulary. Bush: "Shaboolth"; "Shib--bull--eth"; "Shib-bult"; "Shb--oole." (Abu Gar--rb, Garref, Gerah, Garon, etc.)

If he had a taste of the freedom he has "delivered",...the sun would be black,...he'd declare the end of the world,...and prolly drink himself to death.

From what fucking alternate universe does he get this shit?

They have to be incredibly desperate to try a lie of this magnitude. This is taking a HUGE risk in the hope that people are totally retarded.

16. I hope he just keeps on lying and lying
I hate this, though, and I fear for our troops and our future. Even though they're keeping their heads down, the current fatality (never mind casualty) rate is almost the highest it's ever been.

At some point, it can't be denied; unfortunately, that point may not be before November.

17. Clearly delusional
Kerry should hammer the theme that Bush is in the fantasy world of spin, deception, delusion, fantasy. It covers the whole turf of the lying admin. It also piles pressure on his narcissistic personality. Enough pressure and Bush will have a pretzel meltdown again.

18. Kerry needs to take these statements
and demand that bush stop telling America LIES when its obvious Iraq is a total disaster. Kerry needs to call bush either a liar or delusional...he is either lying to the public for political gain or he is delusional and should be removed form office. Kerry needs to make this an outrage...he has the position and he can bring bush down with this.

Iraq is bush's most vulnerable issue and Kerry needs to shove it up roves ass and watch him squirm...this can bring bush down.

... after this penis for a president gets through with us, the any semblance of "freedom" will be long gone.

Why oh why, do people confuse freedom to want with freedom from want?

What happened to the idea that economic freedom should mean freedom to live without fear of economics?

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO MY COUNTRY?!!?
