New Doubts On Bush Memos......BBC

Fresh doubts have surfaced on the authenticity of memos on US President George W Bush's military record.
The documents say Mr Bush was suspended from flying for the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam war because he failed to meet its standards.

In the latest twist, the secretary who would have typed the memos said they appeared to have been forged.

However, Marian Carr Knox told CBS television - which first broke the story - that the content was truthful.

With national security a key issue in the US presidential elections on 2 November, supporters of Mr Bush and Democratic nominee John Kerry have been attacking each candidate's Vietnam records

Marian Carr said THE CONTENT WAS TRUTHFUL. So it doesn't matter if KARL ROVE gave CBS forged documents. The content was truthful and that's ALL THAT MATTERS.

where she and Dan started to speculate what might be going on if these docs are not the ones she typed. It was like Rather said the equivalent of "let's not go there right now."

Might they have been thinking "Rove"?

I was thinking that Rather could have easily asked Mrs. Knox what other people Killian might have trusted with his files, particularly his CYA files. She would know for certain who had access to Killian and who had his trust. She must be a huge source of information on names, places, dates, etc. She's sharp. She's divulging a lot more to CBS than we've heard so far. Mrs. Knox didn't come all the way to NYC to tell Dan Rather that he'd been had. She's there for back-up.
