Hillary: "Now they should come to New York and face us"
"Outraged that the White House misled New Yorkers about air quality after the Sept. 11 terror attack, Sen. Hillary Clinton and dozens of other city and state officials demanded a presidential explanation.

Speaking on the steps of City Hall, Clinton said she had sent a letter to President George W. Bush Tuesday asking for a thorough and expeditious accounting of what transpired in the White House after the attacks.

Maybe after the first couple of days nobody could know," Clinton said, referring to the EPA statements after Sept. 11. "But a week later? Two weeks later? Two months later? Six months later? Give me a break. They knew and they were going to tell us the truth and the White House told them not to tell us the truth.

"Now they should come to New York and face us," she said.

Madelyn Wils, chairwoman of Community Board 1, said much of the blame should also be placed on the administration of former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani for not responding to concerns of residents in lower Manhattan immediately after the attack."

"Who was looking after the living?" Wils asked. "No one was looking after the living."

Clinton called “absolutely inexcusable” White House actions as detailed in a report last week by the Environmental Protection Agency’s inspector general. For the EPA, for our government, under pressure from the White House, to provide anything other than the most professional, accurate information — there is no excuse possible,” she said. The White House had no immediate comment Tuesday.

35. No. He just drank the blood of the 9/11 dead. Then he ate their hearts
and souls on his book signing tours. All in the name of cash profits and political profit.

with him...it was in the Sydney Morning Herald last week or so....He was there speechifying...in the interview he said that he was pretty much decided on a return to politics....he wasn't sure "when"--let me tell you, he's going to run against Hillary, I bet!

5. They want to hold ceremonies at Ground Zero.
I think they should hold the whole convention there.

We'll truck in some of the landfill from Fresh Kills, make it authentic. Let them breathe what we did. Toss in some anthrax.

People brought their children back on the strength of the government's assurances.

3. Bush should not come here on 9/11
In a city that was promised help, yet had to close its own firehouses because of lack of funds, we have to endure more. His treatment of NY has been nothing short of disgraceful. Lack of aid promised, "Trifecta" jokes, selling his photo on 9/11 for profit, not for the victims families, but for the GOP, Blackout2003 which caused a city with financal woes as it is, a billion more, thanks to bush &the republicans voting against an upgrade in 2001.

9/11 families begging for an investigation, while he witholds necessary info& refuses to declassify the 28 pages that link the funding of 9/11 to the Saudis. Seems he is more interested in their national security, then ours. Now this. I cant take much more. I dont want to see him show up on 9/11 & cry his crocidile tears.

"Mislead"????...If this EPA Report doesnt prove he's a LIAR, I dont know what does. He's a LIAR, A TRAITOR & A COWARD. He should be IMPEACHED. Thank you, Senator Clinton & all our reps for speaking up. Bloomberg, hope u have fun in Israel, while this city falls apart & Pataki, as always, you are completely useless. These 2 really deserve a RECALL.

4. Is this being reported my the major media...
or any press outside NYC?! If no, then why not?!

Why is it that anything this White House does; even if it involves the loss of of innocent Americans, is mostly ignored by the press. But a president receiving oral sex from a intern and lying about it is grounds for round the clock reporting.

My guess is that Bush could come on TV and slaughter babies and it would be ignored. Unless he had an intern on her knees between his legs at the time I guess.

Briefly on MSNBC & CNN, sorry I never watch FOX so I cant say. Local News& Newspapers-yes! If you're not in NY, please call Senators' Clinton & Schumer & offer your support. Every word of encouragement helps & maybe it will get more media coverage. I dont understand how bush can get away with this. I just dont.

19. Even that would be ignored
because he is a Republican.

Think about it--Arnold has a terrible sex history. But do any of the tabloids say one word about that now that he is running for governor as a Republican? NO! Would they run those pics if he were running as a Dem? You bet!

26. "Unless he had an intern on her knees between his legs"
Even that would not get him negative reporting. He would get kudos for being a manly man. It is only important if we're talking about a Democrat. Otherwise we would hear about Ahhnold or Gingrich or Hyde or all of those cheating bastards in the Republican party. They cheat more on every single thing than the most hardened criminals. It doesn't matter to them Taxes, infidelity, voting. You name it and a Republican cheats on it.

7. People need to come to New York during the Repuke Convention
in the millions and protest this asshole and his cabal of thieves and murderers. Don't let him have one more photo op or one more moment of glory at the expense of those who died on 9/11. We've got to make the repuke convention demonstration larger and more memorable than Chicago of 1968. Bring these lying fascists down!

11. YOU created that, symbolman?
Wow ... I seriously wish I could shake your hand. I saw that piece a little while back and I have to tell you, I found it one of the most haunting I'd ever seen ... the questions, the pictures, the music. Very well done. I don't see how anyone could watch it and not be impacted ... certainly, if they're not outraged, they're simply not paying attention.

Thank you ... seriously.

P.S. I'm curious ... Can you please tell me what is the name of that music and by whom? It is absolutely haunting ...

12. Verdi's "Requiem," I think.
Astonishingly appropriate.

I found a site which has info. with sound clips, and text.

Unbelievably powerful. Using this music in this reference is almost too intense, and so perfect.

Starting at the first of the Requiem:

Don't think everyone can make it through without being deeply rearranged.

14. It's about time someone is putting this out front!
The self-agrandizing 9/11 heros (Bush, Guiliani, etc.) were mostly concerned about the photo ops among the rubble, while the plight of the survivors and victims families was of concern only to the extent that it made them seem compassionate and macho. The media and their lack of coverage of this issue is even more sickening!

17. One person
One person stood out above all the rest after 9/11

One person who at the time of the attacks was out of the county who got home as quickly as possible. He went into the heart of the city and helped by just being there and talking with people.

He did not go because there was a great photo op in it for him. He went becaue that's what he does. He cares.

That man is Bill Clinton.

When I think of all of those steel workers, rescue workers, volunteers, families, clean-up workers, business people, tourists, and mourners who went/returned to that site with the assurances that the air was "safe" I want to fucking scream.

My god, the level of exposure some of those rescue workers received -- some of those firefighters may have survived the Towers but will they survive the aftermath?

How many more lives will 9/11 claim because of Bush's damn lies?

If only I believed in Hell, then I'd have some small consolation in thinking he was heading there...

33. Someone had a great idea! What will the police do during the convention?
Those people who can get to NY for the convention protest need to start working with the members of the NY police force NOW!!!! So that when the time comes, they will understand that the protesters are on THEIR side....and bush and the repukes aren't!!!

This could go a long way toward great success in a protest....wouldn't it be priceless if the police JOINED the protesters???

O8) Am I dreaming?? O8)

I think Dems should sign an agreement to NOT read prepared speeches from cards or teleprompters. (card notes OK). Everyone knows Junior is not able to think. He can barely read. I think the Dems. should have a theme of 'Coming from our mind and hearts and NOT unknown shadow government policy makers.'

Make Junior respond to Hillary and NY without a prepared speech.

really interested in knowing how people reacted to this and what they said. Besides Newsday & some local papers, this is getting little attention from mainstream media. Alot of very upset people, do you if anything is being planned to draw more attention to this? Any info or insight you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks!
