Kerry to Appear on Letterman on Monday (praise the lord!!!)
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=696&e=3&u=/ap/20040915/ap_on_el_pr/kerry_letterman

WASHINGTON - Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) will probably avoid the "Will it Float?" routine but might opt to deliver the "Top 10 List" when he appears on the "The Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday.

The Democratic presidential nominee has appeared on such late-night comedy programs as "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and rode a motorcycle onto the set of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," but he has never been on the Letterman program, a frequent destination for candidates. In the 2000 campaign, George W. Bush appeared on the CBS show.

Late-night comedy shows provide campaign news to a growing number of people, according to a poll earlier this year by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. One-fifth of those ages 18-to-29 said they regularly learn about the campaign from such programs.

In making the announcement Wednesday, CBS also said Kerry's appearance marks the start of the fall season for Letterman.

-snip-

there's some more about bush and kerry being invited to BET (heh).

1. Kerry has already appeared on BET before but Letterman will be interesting
i'm hoping he does speak about his issues since there aren't many major media channels he is able to get it out of and this would be a good chance to do it.

3. Dave will make Kerry look good!
He'll ask serious questions! If Bush appears on Letterman I hope he shows the clip of Bush wiping his glasses on his assistants dress.

4. excellant
this is exactly what we need, letterman is a great interviewer that keeps things lively and intersting, and he is a Democrat himself.

Kerry should come out with a "unfit for command" book and have some fun with it. Put it in the "Will it Float" tank and have the book sink.

this campaign needs some surprises, grab the voters attention, be innovative!
