Court denies Bush effort to speed FEC ruling
YEAH!!!!!

Glacial pace the 'way Congress likes it'
Wednesday, September 15, 2004 Posted: 11:57 AM EDT (1557 GMT)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal judge on Wednesday denied a request to force the Federal Election Commission to act on complaints by President Bush's campaign against anti-Bush groups spending millions of dollars on ads in the presidential race.

District Judge James Robertson told Bush's attorneys that he agreed that the FEC had moved at a "glacial pace" in handling complaints, but he added, "That's the way Congress has set it up and apparently that's the way Congress likes it."

The Bush campaign had wanted the judge to force the FEC to act on complaints dating back to March within 30 days. After that, the campaign would have been able to sue to block the private groups' activities if it didn't agree with the regulators' actions.

Rest of story

but..."That's the way Congress has set it up, and apparently that's the way Congress likes it."

And you know who's in charge of Congress, as well as who signed the 527s into law to begin with, LOL!

7. Bush didn't care about the 527 ads until low and behold....
....the Kerry folks/moveon, etc.......raised more money than they did. Bush knew when he signed the campaign reform that 527 would continue but never dreamed the other side would raise more money.

8. Thank Goodness!!!
I heard about a group, democracy21.org, on C-Span this morning. The president of the group: Fred Wertheimer went on and on whining about parts of the FEC not abiding with the rules in terms of Amounts of $$ a campaign or 527 can raise.

Someone called in to yell at him telling him he was just doing this to kill the SBVT ads LOL Then Mr. Wertheimer quickly went on to shoot himself in the foot to say 'No no, we were into this suit early this year when ACT was about the only group raising funds'...before Moveon became as big as it was? OMG...

See, he used language to make people think he was being TOTALLY non partisan at first...........then a caller trips him up and he spills the beans.

The Fascist Pigs have people out in droves trying to thwart ANYONE or anything that will undermine their agenda!
