Report: Heat to Cause More Calif. Deaths
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 09:54 AM by dArKeR
By TOM VERDIN, Associated Press Writer

SAN FRANCISCO - Longer and more intense heat waves throughout California in the decades ahead will lead to more heat-related deaths in several major cities, according to a new report.

Heat-related deaths can be expected to increase up to 180 percent annually by 2050 and as much as 500 percent annually by the end of the century if the atmosphere continues to warm, according to the report released Monday by ATMOS Research and Consulting.

The report was based on research from scientists from around the country and is a more detailed analysis of a larger study the Indiana-based group released in August. That study examined the possible wide-ranging effects of global warming on California's agriculture, water supply, coastline and ecology.

Who's running Kerry's campaign? With the massive typhoons that just hit Asia and the S. Atlantic causing billions of dollars of damage and Bush gets good press for handing out money. Not one Media Whore brings up the point that in fact aWol Bush policies are causing the death and destrution which will increase in the future. Are the Media Whores that stupid? Are the citizens that stupid?

Above just another report for Kerry to speak the truth. Why doesn't Kerry come up with the slogan. "Democrats the Party of Truth' and the "Republicans the Party of Liars." Maybe Kerry should tell the truth and go after the Media? Just clearly and honestly state the media are controlled by a bunch corporate liars!

1. And we all know, the globe revolves about California.
That must be the special version of global warming. It only affects california. Could that same heat affect Mexico? It's usually a bit warmer at the lower lattitudes. But you know, noone's listening. We don't give a damn. After all, I'm still trying to get my fucking repub neighbors to shut their fucking chickens up, that wake me every day at 5am. So I would imagine, until we can deal with stuff like that, global warming is a bit much to address. Furthermore, as much as I, personally, have done what I can about the global warming issue, these other people won't do a thing, until they are forced. That's how they operate. Just telling you how it seems to work. No informative answers here. Just someone who is really tired of idiots ruining our world. Whether it's the peace, or the ecosystem. I really hope we run out of gas soon. All of our problems of aggression will end. Then survival will take over. I'm not sure which is worse. But at least one is the way humans lived for thousands of years.
