Times Publisher Decries Cheapened Debate
MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The publisher of The New York Times complained Monday about what he called a cheapening of the public debate but said he thinks news organizations can improve the situation.

Arthur O. Sulzberger Jr., speaking at Kansas State University, said newspapers and broadcast stations that try to give unbiased information face increased skepticism and even cynicism from the public.

He acknowledged that news organizations' own mistakes -- including a scandal last year involving a Times reporter's plagiarism and fabrication of facts -- added to the skepticism.

But he said many journalists are aware of the problems facing the profession and want to change things.

16. The Screw York TImes needs to stop the Nazi propaganda.
The SCREW YORK TIMES needs to go back to it's motto, "ALL THE NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT" INSTEAD OF "ALL THE LIES KARL TELLS US TO PRINT"

2. "Change things?!?" Why not get some real "journalists", for one thing?!?
Why not start at Fox on the cable shows..then proceed to MSNBC and CNN. Then talk to ABC, NBC, and *CBS. Then go after the Washington Times, New York Times, etc., etc.!

And, you've got to get rid of all of those radio and tv "personalities" who pose as journalists. The list is too extensive to name. But, here are a few:

Hannity, Limbaugh, Tweety, Novakula, Carlson, Matt Lauer, and Campbell Brown.

(*CBS is not as culpable as the rest of the swine!)

6. As in what cheapens the debate more
than having the so-called "newspaper of record" aid and abet * in his efforts to build a case for the most misguided war in American history?

5. pssssttt, Art,
With your continuous aiding and abetting, our country has been taken over by extremists that meet the definition of fascists.

NOW, you take comfort in spouting the most inane, sound-bitten banalities in a public forum to excuse what you have created?

YOU and the rest of the traitorous "free press" have driven our democracy over a cliff. You are the ones who have cheapened the debate in this country and now you are crying crocodile tears?

Well Boo-Hoo jerk. Too bad the press alone can't experience the horrible consequences that you have created. Unfortunately, the entire world has to suffer from what YOU have created.

Iraq is only the beginning, buddy. Thanks for bringing us Hell!

8. You will continue to aid and abet
until you find yourself backed into a corner you can't get out of, and figure out you and your entire operation is just a puppet.

At this point you will realize you have no more soul left to sell.

13. He's got his head in the clouds.....
Jason Blair did little to sully the reputation of the press.

Their constant fellating of "both sides of the story", even if one side is preposterous (i.e. usually lies from the right), is what did them in.

Frankly, I want intelligent people to get the facts and tell me the truth.

This he said she said, Lacey Peterson bullshit has got to stop.

If the chief dude of the NYT can't figure this out and I can,
we have a problem Houston.

In other words, fuck the media, they're idiots.
