WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush on Monday sent to the Senate his nominations for an assistant secretary of the Navy and two U.S. representatives to the upcoming session of the United Nations.

The White House said nominations were sent for Richard Greco, Jr. of New York, to be an assistant secretary of the Navy.

In addition, Bush is nominating Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and Rep. John E. Sununu, R-N.H., to represent the United States at the 59th session of the U.N. General Assembly.

4. Sen Leahy??? WTF??? I LOVE Sen Leahy - what is Shrub up to?
I don't trust Shrub for a nanosecond.
What is up with Leahy's nomination?
I KNOW he is not making amends for Cheney, is he just afraid of Leahy (he should be)?

Is it the ides of March already?
Am I overly suspicious of every move these criminals make?

5. We should be suspicious
It's just Bush trying to appear moderate before the election.

Trouble is -- this emperor has no clothes. His stupid administration even is trying to start an argument with CBS. It's an old saying, but never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel.

6. Is Vermont's Gov a Dem or a repug?
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 09:46 PM by bain_sidhe
Just askin'

**edit: Just looked it up: Vermont's Gov is a Repug. So, if Leahy leaves, the gov will no doubt appoint a repug.**

Regardless, any newcomer would probably be easier for the pugs to run against next time that seat is up...

Leahy is also ranking member of the Judiciary committee, and has personally had a lot to do with blocking some of shrubbie's more wild-eyed judicial nominees.
