Buckingham Palace Security Breached by Man Dressed as Batman
<snip> Jason Hatch, 33, with the help of his accomplice Robin, was able to scale the wall of Buckingham Palace using a ladder, John Ison, a spokesman for Fathers 4 Justice said by phone from outside Buckingham Palace. Robin was stopped by police armed with guns and couldn't complete the stunt, Ison said.

Members of the Metropolitan Police are speaking to Hatch and trying to persuade him to leave the 15 inch-wide balcony on which he has been standing for more than an hour, Ison said. <snip>

``We don't believe that events like this address the complexity of the problem,'' Kelly said. ``It's a problem that has to be seen in the round and considered in the round.''

The incident follows several other breaches of royal security. Shortly before U.S. President George W. Bush's visit to the U.K. in November, Daily Mirror reporter Ryan Parry got a job at Buckingham Palace and comedian Aaron Barschak gate-crashed Prince William's 21st birthday party at Windsor Castle, west of London. <snip>

3. Very embarrassing for security
They claimed they could have shot him, but decided not to because they thought he wasn't a threat. True, or arse-covering?

They've just persuaded him to come quietly, anyway.

6. I understand he did it to call attention to father's rights...
Well, I can understand why some men feel discriminated against in custody cases, but honestly, would you give YOUR kid to a guy who breaches security at Buckingham Palace in light of terrorist threats from the IRA or 9/11 and dresses in a Batman costume?!?

Hey buddy, you're not helping!
