Miranda Sues to Stop Judiciary Memo Probe
WASHINGTON -- A former Senate staffer filed a federal lawsuit Monday to stop an investigation into how Republicans obtained computer memos taken from Democrats' machines.

Manuel Miranda asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to stop a Justice Department and Secret Service investigation into whether a crime was committed when he and another of Sen. Orrin Hatch's former employees got Democratic documents from a computer server shared by both sides. Miranda worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which Hatch, R-Utah, is chairman.
...
Conservatives have talked up the memos as proof the Democrats colluded with outside liberal groups in their choices of which Bush nominees to block with filibusters.

The sergeant-at-arms referral blamed the intrusion on Miranda, who worked for Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and Hatch on the Judiciary Committee; and on Jason Lundell, a clerk who worked on nominations for Hatch. Miranda resigned during the dispute early this year. Lundell left late last year after word of the affair first emerged.

Dems can do what ever they please to stop Bush nominations. But I don't think you repukes are allowed to break into computers. I don't care much for Wal-Mart and it's practices, but I ain't stealin' from them. What a bunch of clowns.

3. What has always got me about this is:
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 06:06 PM by Gman
1) Horrors, a political party "colluded" with an outside group and

2) Horrors, one party spied on the other.

Nonsense because nothing will ever come out any investigation run by republicans.

4. How very republican. An accused criminal files suit to stop the
investigation of his crimes because the victims of his crimes accused him of those crimes and republican Senators failed to defend a loyal republican against the accusations of criminal activity. Apparently, crimes committed by republicans can not be investigated.

9. I think he is a lawyer. But the Mad Hatter may be co-counsel.
This may just be a republican ploy to try and delay the indictments until after the election. In which case some heavy hitter may be his attorney.
