Wisconsin boy accused of raping elderly woman

The Associated Press

Last Updated: September 22, 2004, 12:41:00 PM PDT

MILWAUKEE (AP) - An 11-year-old boy raped an elderly neighborhood woman as three other boys watched, police said.
Police arrested him and three others, Sgt. Ken Henning said Tuesday.

Henning said the boys had been "terrorizing" the 76-year-old woman in her house for a week, crawling through a window each day and stealing items. The woman lived alone, he said.

The woman alerted police after she was raped by one of the boys while the others - ages 11, 12 and 13 - watched, Henning said.

24. We have 300,000,000 people in this country
Sometimes a bad one gets past QC. I'd hardly go so far as to call this an indictment of our entire society -- "real problems in this country." The real problem in this country is still in the White House. This kid is seriously fucked up, but an abberation, imho. Besides, the story gives absolutely no detail about the kid...history of mental disturbance? Kicked out of a program? Not diagnosed? In trouble with the law before? No parents?

The republicans will whine that it doesn't matter, fry him (or try him as an adult). That is a republican response. This person is still a human, and someone was/should have been responsible for him, and that is who should be "tried like an adult."

Or parent.

27. In the words of the immortal Diamanda Galas:
"If I hear about a man raping a woman, I want to kill him. I don't care if his mother hung him from the clothesline by his balls everyday, I WANT TO KILL HIM."

31. Go ahead an kill him
Then you will be a killer, plain and simple.

You will have become one of them, and you will have accomplished nothing in the process.

No, seriously. This is a pretty weird story. I wonder how it's going to pan out, if they've got any physical evidence, etc.

9. similar story but happy ending (sort of)
had an 80 yr old patient who lived in duplex with daughter and grandaughter in next door unit.

Creep broke in and raped the 80 yr old...10 yr old grandaughter heard her grandmother's screams, called 911 and barged through Grandma's door finding the creep there who ran away. She was able to positively id the guy to police and send him away.

Husband's civic group gave her an award. Although the Grandmother was terribly traumatized...she was consoled by her granddaughter's heroism.

People like that deserve the death penalty and am pretty much anti death penalty....but that one took the cake.

21. On another child, probably younger..... But you know that a six year old
has not learned that kind of behavior in a vacuum. In all likelyhood this child had been sexually abused also.

Unfortunately, his sexual abuse most likely started at such a young age that he was just about irredeemable by age six. The things we do with and put into our bodies changes our brains chemically. The younger, the more profound the changes and the more impossible to modify....

22. That's so sad my brain can't even process it.
Of course the poor kid had to have been immitating something that was done to him. That's what kids do. And now what chance does he have?

14. Do you honestly think he had the idea all by himself...
how do you think a 6 year old finds out about the concept of sexual assault? There's obviously something horrific going on regarding the adults in his life. A 6 year old is NOT culpable for their actions no matter how heinous. The people responsible, i.e. the parents and other adults in his life, ARE reponsible and are almost NEVER given the punishment they deserve for turning a child into a monster and providinig inadequate supervision that gives them the opportunity to hurt others.

Just my opinion from 7 years working in the juvenile prison system.

18. Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a Wisconsinite.
We have had a rash of really horrible crimes committed here in the last few years. Gangs of kids beating people to death on their own front porch, cops shooting people in the streets, child pornography.

I hardly recognize the place anymore. Sickening.

Oh. When they do, don't give him a pressure suit or oxygen tank.

That brat makes my blood boil, what a true animal. x( Probably a bush supporter too; as they too have a habit of screwing the elderly.

33. four incredibly screwed up kids
terrorizing an elderly lady. Some really, really great parenting going on there. Some people should just be sterilized or on some birth control that's 100% effective.
