Bush Campaign: Gifts Should Cover Recount
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites)'s campaign is urging election regulators to allow it and rival John Kerry (news - web sites) to raise unlimited individual donations to cover costs for a possible recount, as Bush and rival Al Gore (news - web sites) could in 2000.

In a letter to the Federal Election Commission (news - web sites) made public Wednesday, the Bush campaign argued that nothing in the campaign finance laws has changed on recount fund raising since 2000.

Bush campaign attorney Tom Josefiak wrote the commission after Kerry's campaign asked the FEC for guidance on its fund-raising options should either campaign pursue a recount like the 2000 Florida ballot dispute that made Bush president. The commission is expected to give Kerry its opinion Sept. 30.

In 2000, Bush and Gore could raise unlimited donations from individuals for their recount funds, but were barred from accepting corporate and union money.

3. Gee, planning ahead this time?
Maybe Roger Stone can round up the CANF gang and storm the Boards of Elections again.

Roger Stone, CANF, & Miami Canvassing Board shut down the recount.

Every CEO in America could scrape a cool mill out from under their couch cushions, which doesn't include the Think Tanks, Fundies or the Saudis who funded most of *'s business enterprises.

But lets make damn sure union brothers and sisters are not allowed to pool their meager resources together to fight for the rest of the working class.

7. Kerry needs to get David Boies like Gore.
Although Gore's side lost, I thought Boies did a good job.

8. I know that foreigners can't give to political campaigns
But can they give to lawsuits regarding the campaigns? Can they give to cover legal expenses of a lawsuit? If So Kerry has the world to pull from and that would need to be broadcast far and wide. He holds an 80-20% advantage or something like that worldwide over Bush.
