High court disqualifies Nader from ballot (OR)

SALEM, Ore. (AP) - The Oregon Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that Ralph Nader will not appear on the Oregon presidential ballot, reversing a lower court.

The Supreme Court upheld Democratic Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, who determined that flawed petitions sheets left the independent presidential candidate 218 signatures short of the 15,306 needed to put him on the Nov. 2 ballot.

it's really like trying to stick frogs into a wheelbarrow. One jumps in, and two jump out. A court puts him on the ballot, a court takes him off again. Then he appeals. And appeals. On the same day that Arkansas booted him off, Pennsylvania put him back on again.

By the way, I saw a poster on campus today that said "Why you should vote for Nader". Apparently these self-described "socialists" were oblivous to the fact that Nader will not be on the ballot in this state, and that the voting machines make casting a write in ballot very difficult. Best that everybody just make it easier and vote for Kerry.
