Israel Urges UN Sanctions on Iran

Israel has urged the United Nations to move toward sanctions against Iran because, according to it, Tehran is never going to abandon its quest for nuclear weapons.

"We know that the Europeans are trying now to engage with the Iranians. But we know that the Iranians will never abandon their plans to develop nuclear weapons. They are only trying to hide it," Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom told reporters on Wednesday at the United Nations.

He said European nations were waking up to the realisation that Iran was developing missiles that could hit Paris, Berlin and London as well as Israel.

Iran says its nuclear programme, some of which it concealed for years from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN nuclear watchdog, is purely for peaceful purposes.

Is this part of our 'outsourcing of mid-east policy to Israel'?

And is this not the pot calling the kettle black?

edited Sorry - making dinner and should have checked - Iraq not Iran....unless Bushco wants to make Iran our 52nd state (Iraq is the 51st).

7. Nope
US certainly will not. Pentagon has no illusions that US has got 140 000 potential hostages in Iraq, should US declare war on Iran by such action. Wargaming shows that US has no way to stop escalation of war, and that US troops in Gulf and Iraq would be in extreme risk.

Can US control Israel is another question, my guess is that in this aspect yes, for the time being. Iran has made it clear that should Israel attack Iran, that would equal US declaring war against Iran.

4. Iran
Iran will be the October surprise! Bush thinks he is protecting us from these infitdels. Where is Iran with PNAC? Next on the list?
What I want to say I can't say on here..... Ridge would be at my door.

Did I tell you the talk with my friends is ... where can we move out of the US?

This is all sick.
I do feel an insurrection in our country if this nit wit gives himself the name of King George. I see the end of Randi Rhodes, Tom Hartman. Al Franken... do I need to add to the list.

Guy James, you are great!

6. We don't follow your rules but expect you to enforce our wishes,...
,...kinda' thingy?

Is this the trip?

Has this leadership (along with it's buddy) become the evil it continues to battle?

Such "over-compensation",...simply re-cycles and casts the past into the future,...rather than acknowledging the present and inventing a real vision of what can be.

Terribly unfortunate.
