2. Did they die on Sept. 20th, two staff sergeants ?
One was 30, the other 35. 2nd battlion, 3rd special forces group I believe.

I say this because I was reading about recent loses on the real war on terror in Afghanistan this morning.

Freedom isn't free, but Osama Bin Laden still is.

9. It must be two new ones because it was announced on my local news
just before I posted. Why would they post about something that happened on Monday. It's an all Local News station on all day.

Said it was a car bomb...is that the same as the two guys you are talking about?

Two Special Forces Sergeants Killed In Afghanistan

FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- Two Special Forces soldiers from Fort Bragg died Monday in southeastern Afghanistan after their vehicle came under enemy fire from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades, the Army Special Operation Command said Wednesday.

Staff Sgt. Robert S. Goodwin, a weapons sergeant, and Staff Sgt. Tony B. Olaes, a medic, were patrolling near Shkin in the Paktika province when they were attacked.

Goodwin, 35, of Albany, Ga., and Olaes, 30, of Walhalla, S.C., were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne)and deployed to Afghanistan in May 2004.

May they rest in peace.

5. With all the good news in Iraq, sometimes we forget that
at least 1/3 of Afghanistan is under control of warlords, and becoming increasingly violent.

12. dude your cool.
It's still breaking news. Thanks for bringing it up. America seems to be forgetting about the importance of Afghanistan and the real sacrifices in the war on terror.
