Black Gay Republicans Issue Challenge to Log Cabin Republican Leadership t
In an Appearance on the John Mullen Radio Show (New York), Abe Lincoln Black Republican Caucus Challenges Log Cabin Republicans to Debate of ALBRC Controversial Endorsement of Bush WASHINGTON - PRNewswire - Sept. 24
WASHINGTON, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- After having set off a national political firestorm, which still rages in America's gay communities, Internet chat rooms and bars, Don Sneed, Co-Founder/Civic Consultant for the ABLRC appeared on the John Mullen Show, broadcast nationally on a gay Internet radio station, and issued a challenge to Patrick Guerriero, Executive Director of the Log Cabin Republicans, to debate the merits of the fledging inner city black gay Republican group's endorsement of President Bush for re-election. "For two days, Anthony (ALBRC National Spokesman and Dallas Republican Precinct Chairman) and I have been responding to calls and granting interviews about the ALBRC Bush endorsement.

"Unfortunately, we have received many ugly, belligerent and hostile phone calls from gays across the nation condemning our decision to endorse and support the President for re-election," said Sneed. "Some callers have questioned our right to independent thought and decision with such statements as: 'You're Blacks; you should have endorsed him as Blacks! No gays should support him.'" Sneed went on to say: "Yet we have also received calls of support and encouragement (from black and white gays) and inquiries about them about starting chapters of the ALBRC in their cities."

"The hostility we are receiving is from people who don't understand our legitimate reasons for endorsing and supporting President Bush's re-election," said Anthony Falls, ALBRC National Spokesman. "This decision is well thought out; it has merit, we are sticking with the decision, and we will not be bullied by those who claim that they should decide what black gays should think and do when it comes to politics in this country. That in and of itself is a form of extreme prejudice and bigotry."

1. Black, Gay Repukes for Bush?
Oh man. They haven't made the medication that can touch what is wrong with them.

I hope this is a joke.

18. Truly, It makes me shake my head in disbelief.
If voters who are both black AND gay think they need to vote for this schmuck - they're to be seriously pitied. It IS like Jews for Hitler, or civil libertarians for the Patriot Act, or capitalists for Karl Marx.

3. "Decision is well-thought out"??? Well, then explain it! They don't
because they can't! Seriously, if they had legitimate reasons, spell them out! Don't just say you have them! These people are apparently as stupid as anyone who supports Bush. That's right--ANYONE!

This sounds like the "Catholic vote" claim.
It's silly to think that either blacks or catholics swing their vote to shrub. Sure, there are some, the same as there some baptists, and some evangelicals who split off from a mojority.

They have a right to their opinion. They are batteling the LCR's to gain a little more support for their position.

5. We talked about this at last night's DU-NYC gathering.
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 01:26 PM by Infomaniac
We talked about this at last night's DU-NYC gathering. First, there was shock that repug was plural. Could there be more than one black and gay repug? The second response was greedy bastards come in all shapes, sizes and orientations and these folks must really like their tax break. Like there isn't enough hatred in the world already, we need more of the selfish and self-hating folks to issue press releases.

6. Very telling
"This issue revolves around the protection of the vast amount of wealth accumulated by some members of the gay community and codifying, through judicial mandate and legislative decree, the acceptance of homosexuality. As gays, our time would be better spent working to find out why God made us as we are - not using the law to force our external and internal public acceptance."

Self hating gays, no doubt. "...not using the law to force our external and internal public acceptance."?!?!?!

Yeah, don't waste time trying to combat homophobia and gay-bashing. Motherfuckers!!!:eyes:

20. Just think,
If they found out why God made them the way they are, they could work on finding ways to be what they really want to be--straight, white Republicans. :eyes:

Like someone said above, as if there isn't enough self-hating going on there... How against your self interests can you be?

14. Aaaahhh...
oxymoron of being gay and Republican and now being Black, gay and Repug! I tell ya, will they ever learn...that their repulsive party will never accept them!! Weren't they denied a party platform at their convention like the 100th or so time already! Don't they get the hint that the Repubes are the party of exclusion, not inclusion! They will however accept their money. But prefer it if they just stay hidden in the closet where they belong. So pathetically sad!! Oh well... I guess I gay Repugs are great bottoms--why, you ask? Because they keep getting screwed up the ass by their own political party, that's why!

19. Explain one thing to me...
Why are there two separate organizations of gay Repukes--one white, one black, apparently? That strikes me as distinctly, um, old-fashioned. One wonders about some of the attitudes of the LCRs if this is the case.

Might not be, of course. The other lot may just be an insane splinter group...

24. Divide and conquer
ALBRC says that the gay establishment is elitist and anti black.
Meanwhile GOP regulars pander to homophobia in the
socially conservative black Christian community,
urging them to disaffect from the Democrats.
Have oppressed minorities fighting each other instead
of The Man.

Gay Black Republicans? I've seen it all. :eyes:
