Britain's Prince Harry to Join the Army
LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's Prince Harry will join an officer training course next year after passing the army's entrance tests, his father's office said on Friday.

The 20-year-old prince, third in line to the throne, will be trained as an officer cadet at the prestigious Sandhurst military academy after successfully passing a four-day Regular Commissions Board (RCB) assessment.

"I am delighted that I have passed my RCB and that I can now go to Sandhurst," he said in a statement released by Clarence House, his father Prince Charles's office.

"The last four days have been very challenging, both mentally and physically, but it's also been an enjoyable experience.

11. When my father died
I gave him a tribute because he taught my nephews how do be "daddies".

Anybody can lie down and make a baby.

But not everybody stays around to raise them.

Charles has raised Harry as his son.

That's the only commendable thing he's done in my view.

Try to keep the gossip to yourself.

12. Most people think Hewitt first met Diana in 1986
2 years after Harry was born. You need more evidence than a vague resemblance.

4. Hey, republican members of the U.S. congress, here is ....
...a news story you can discuss with your sons, daughters grandkids and other loved ones as an example of putting your weasel where your mouth is! (Weasel is British slang for paycheck or money roll)

I suppose the same would apply to democratic members as well as the executive, judicial, state and local branches of government.

7. Most of the Royals join the armed forces at some time.
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 05:05 PM by fedsron2us
Queen Elizabeth was in the Auxiliary Territorial Services in World War II. Her husband, Prince Philip, saw active service in the Royal Navy and came under kamikaze attack off Japan aboard HMS Whelp. Their son Prince Andrew flew helicopters in the Falklands war. Normally, the immediate heir to the throne will serve in a position where they are not likely to get killed. Nonetheless, shirking of military service is frowned upon. Like most of the old world aristocracy they regard leading their people in time of conflict as a privilege and a duty rather than something to be avoided
