1. The yahoo link
Some people don't have the time or the inclination to register for the "Sydney Morning Herald".

23. I don't blame 'em. How often does one read an article from
the "Sydney Morning Herald"? And then how about all the junk e-mail? The majors I can see having.

18. Too true
This kind of talk will kill more soldiers and innocents. The only possible motive for the public executions is to spark dissent in the enemy: us. Every sign of rebellion we show emboldens their cause, and gets another innocent human kidnapped and/or killed. There is absolutely no good that can come from politicizing a war - for either candidate. We must all put political opinions aside and support and encourage our troops if we want them to live.

19. That one went right over your head, didn't it?
The poster you responded to was using sacrasm, not being serious.

Questioning why over 1000 men and women have died for a lie in a pointless war "emboldens their cause"? Gee, where have I heard that before. Oh yeah, VIETNAM!!! Hey, maybe if there would have been no public uproar about that war either, we'd have hit the 100,000 dead mark before pulling out.

If we want to the soldiers to live, we HAVE to question this war in order to get them home! That's the only way we'll save their lives, not keeping quiet while they get blown up 3-a-day in Iraq.

20. Too much.
This kind of talk does not kill more soldiers and innocents. Having a sniveling, candy-ass coward for president with the drug-addled intelligence of a fence post, however, will go a long way in the mortal danger department.

My son works at the tippy tip of the Point of the Spear in al Anbar, and his well-being is not placed at greater risk by my remarks, or any I have seen made by true DUers. But his unit is under-equipped, under-manned, under-fed and under-supported, on a mission that changes every time Shrub asks KKKarl what the polls say, because President FUCKINGAWOL, a deranged fool, through a fluke of history was handed the keys to the family Abrams, until the grownups get back on November 2.

This kind of talk is why our country was founded, and helps prevent fighting the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time. Great Americans know this:

"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." -- Thomas Jefferson

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -Teddy Roosevelt.

"Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels--men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, we may never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion." -- Dwight David Eisenhower

I'd say you were ofer, Big Swing. Take a cut at this.

12. But the local news
has plenty of time to devote to soldiers who manage to make it home alive and in one piece. Always camera crews at the ready for the touching reunions and to capture the pro-war statements of loved ones. Heard a woman at one of these events yesterday being given face time to proclaim her allegience to the chimp.

Those returning in coffins or removed to hospitals are hidden, like the embarrassing relative no one wants to talk about. Shameful.

13. I said this from 1 year ago. Kerry should be asking why aWol, Rum... are
smiling, joking, laughing, on vacation... while our children are being butchering hourly in Iraq? I think this is a big mistake by Kerry. I think if he used this it would be the same as when the scum feces running against John Glenn said military personnel "never worked a day in their lives." Glenn called this disgraceful. He said "tell the dead soldiers' parents their children never worked a day." This turned it around and Glenn won.

I honestly think Kerry is being advised by some idiots! He should be thinking with his heart and his mind!

11. Kerry should raise this headline in todays speeches!
Iraq Strikes Kill 8; U.S. Soldier Killed
The U.S. military announced the deaths of four Marines and a soldier.
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040925/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq&cid=540&ncid=716

1. The title doesn't even respect the American soldiers enough to put them on top and/or give them the respect to have their own story/headline.

2. The title is wrong, FIVE were killed. The is completely discrespectful to our children dying in Iraq! It belittles them.

15. I've seen Allawi and aWol smiling and joking for 2 days. Whore reports
following those liars state how great Iraq is. Power is on, 4 on 2 off. The great freedom of the press which they show 20 newpapers on the corner. If any Whore is doing their jobs, I'd like to see how many of those newspapers are reporting each day how many women and children are murdered and amputated each day from American and rebel bombs?

simply use our troops as chess pieces to achieve their goal. I wish Kerry would make a statement re: the fact that neither * nor Cheney have attended one funeral. * has been campaigning 24/7 like a cheerleader ignoring the fate of our troops. Isn't is the job of the VP to attend funerals? WTF?

Kerry needs to talk about all of the innocent Iraqi's that have been slaughtered as a result of this illegal war, politically correct or not. A life is a life, what we have done to this country is unforgivable. Why aren't the religious fanatics talking about that?
