Ex-President Clinton taking hour-long walks near Chappaqua home, wife says
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) _ Three weeks after heart bypass surgery, former President Bill Clinton is taking long walks and enjoying the reception from his neighbors, his wife said Monday.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said the former president, who underwent an operation Sept. 6, is "making real progress" and getting stronger every day at their home in Chappaqua.

"He and I went for long walks on Friday and Sunday," the senator said after giving a speech in White Plains. "He's walking 45 minutes to an hour."

During his strolls through town, "People are so happy to see him, they really are," Clinton said. "Little kids come up and throw their arms around him and say, `Oh, Mr. President, we're so glad you're here!'

4. We don't "all" miss him
He was better than bush, which is like saying that losing all four limbs is better than dying. But that's about it.

9. Well, a tremendous amount of people do
Including me, and I'm sure, John Kerry and John Edwards. Get Well Soon, Mr. President. As far as I'm concerned, he is still our President, since he was the last legally elected one. Since his approval rating is in the seventies, looks as if a lot of people agree with me.

19. Clinton is a class act....
So I disagree with you. I miss him. Our country prospered under his leadership like no other president in my personal memory.
I liked Carter better as a person, but I think Clinton was a better president.
Consider that he had Newt and the republican congress hamstringing him at every turn, and he STILL accomplished a great deal...as opposed to Bush, who had control of all three branches of govt. and has managed to run this country and the world into a dangerous stall.

So, I disagree with you, and I think your opinion, which you're allowed to have, is inappropriate in a thread about his recovery from heart surgery.....I'm allowed to have the opinion that you are out of line.

Thanks for allowing me to share that opinion with you. Have a nice day.

11. Good news!
If he can take hour-long walks, maybe, maybe, maybe he could manage a speech or two for Kerry/Edwards in a couple of weeks? Via TV from their home so it isn't too stressful?

18. Love him!
What a national treasure. Sure I'm sorry he was plagued by personal flaws and a stack of cards decked against him (think he would have been put on Mt. Rushmore if the intern-impeachment malarky hadn't happened and he'd had both houses of Congress?) But what a joy to listen to an articulate, passionate, charismatic and unifying voice. I'm just thrilled we get to keep him fighting for all of us!

20. If the Republicans allow foreign-borns to run for President ...
... I say we give it to them, on the condition that we get the right to change the rules so a former president can run another two terms after two terms out of office.

THEN LET BILL RUN AGAIN!
