Germany to provide armoured vehicles to Iraqi army
BERLIN, Sept 28 (AFP) - Germany will provide around 20 armoured vehicles to the Iraqi army and send a first batch to the United Arab Emirates for training purposes, Der Spiegel said on Tuesday in its on-line edition.

Spiegel said the German security council, made up of Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and senior ministers, made the decision in the last week and that the lower house of parliament's foreign affairs committee would discuss the move on Wednesday.

It said a number of the Fuchs vehicles, which are mainly for troop transport but can be outfitted for other purposes, would be sent to the UAE so Iraqi troops can train in their use and maintenance.

The vehicles are ideal for use in desert conditions.

2. I'm sure Germany does support the war on terror.
That's not the subject of the article, though. Nor can your statement even be inferred from the article.

6. Supporting the local forces...
...who fight terrorism amounts to supporting the war on terror.

Only, from my point of view, there is no war on terror. And my statement was ironic.
