Venezuelan and Russian Foreign Ministers strengthen bilateral ties
Jesus Arnoldo Perez
Venezuelan Foreign Minister (MRE) Jesus Arnaldo Perez and his Russian counterpart Lavkov Serguey have held bilateral conversations at the United Nations in New York against the backdrop of the UN’s 59th General Assembly.
In a press statement, they say that after revising both countries’ joint agenda, they checked the most important issues for Venezuelan Vice President, Jose Vicente Rangel's visit to Russia early next month when Rangel will be a member of a Top Level Venezuelan-Russian Commission (CIAN) aimed at reinforcing good relationships between the two countries.
Both diplomats discussed details surrounding a visit to Russia which Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has scheduled for mid-November ... they also discussed the necessity of undertaking all agreements signed by both nations in technological, scientific and military issues that will boost the level of cooperation between these two nations to a higher level.
CIAN’s first meeting took place in Caracas last February 3, under the joint chairmanship of Vice President Rangel and Russian Federation deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Yakovlev.
