Terrorists could bring down U.S. jets with hidden bombs
Suicide attackers armed with hidden explosives that can weigh as little as a cell phone pose a serious threat to the nation's aviation system despite billions being spent on new efforts to tighten security, according to more than a dozen members of Congress and security consultants.

"We have very low protection against a suicide bomber strapped with explosives," says Rep. John Mica, chairman of the House Aviation subcommittee. "It ushers in a whole new era of danger for the aviation industry"

1. Jeez
this is "news"??? The plot to bring down commercial airlines with small Casio wristwatch explosive devices has been around for the last decade--just ask Ramzi Yusef. It was the "Bojinka" project. The administration has known about this all alone. It's what brought down TWA 800--fuel tank explosion, not a missile. This is part of what is in Peter Lance's book "9/11 Commission Cover-Up". They have done NOTHING to prevent this. So NOW do you suppose a plane will be conveniently blown up before the election? I'd stay out of airports and planes for a while. Anyone seen any sudden put-options on any of the major airlines of late?

4. You seem pretty certain it wasn't a missile that brought down TWA 800.
I'm not so convinced.

2. The government drew this conclusion after rigorous testing...
...on the planes of Mel Carnahan and Paul Wellstone.

5. This supports the idea of rigorous no-fly lists
People who sympathize with terrorists, have similar names like terrorists, look like terrorists or have ordered the wrong books at amazon (e.g. The Terror Timeline) should not be allowed to fly. This procedure will make flying safer.

6. Flying Naked is the only solution.

Checked in the nude---forced to wear a single plastic tag around the neck. Everything else checked and labeled.

Woe to the traveler who has his/her checked belongings lost by the airline. No flying for pleasure/vacation will be a thing of the past.

That should do it.

7. "Everything else checked and labeled." So, you're saying...
...they're going to have to check for packages under packages? They're going to have to look for bazookas between bazookas?

But the lines are long already! ;-)

8. This is for the "security moms"
worried about the next suicide bombing at the Des Moines Lions Club Annual Bean Feed.

Besides more Private Contract screeners will speed up the process-- you know the ones they pay $5.50 per hour to hire.

10. That sounds like fun
Maybe they could get a crazy doctor like the one in the movie "Cannon Ball Run". To do the exams.
