Blair says Iraq won't cost him election
BRIGHTON (Reuters) - Tony Blair says Iraq will not be the decisive factor for voters in the next election as his party ponders the prime minister's conditional apology over the war.

snip...............

Asked whether Iraq could cost him a third term in power, the prime minister told GMTV: "I believe actually, when you come to an election, people will vote on other issues.

"They will vote on strength of the economy, record numbers of jobs, huge investment going into health and education."

snip........

Iraq has ravaged Blair's public trust ratings although polls show he should still win re-election.

1. 20 minute radio interview with Blair (by John Humphries) here
the best holding of him to account I've heard so far. Blair's still articulate (you can't imagine Bush being able to put any kind of case like this), but he has to end up saying "Saddam was in breach in UN resolutions, so we had the right to invade him", despite admitting that Iraq was no threat to the UK. He's also caught lying about 'everyone accepted Iraq has WMD'. I wish Humphries had asked him in what sense Saddma did not comply with resolution 1441 - now we accept that he had no WMD, what was wrong with his behaviour after the resolution?

4. bLiar's own legal counsel said invasion was ILLEGAL
Since when do the UK & USA determine the UN rules? But the bigger point is bLiar's own legal counsel warned bLiar before the invasion that it would be ILLEGAL.

You always were a liar, Tony.
