Parents Outraged Over Math Test
In the past, I've received this joke 'test' by way of e-mail more than once. Usually it's from the same folks who like to distribute the freeper garbage, or racist crap, etc.

Parents Outraged Over School Math Test
School System Apologizes To Parents

POSTED: 8:37 am EDT September 29, 2004

OXON HILL, Md. -- The school system in Prince George's County is apologizing to parents after a teacher gave students a math test filled with inappropriate questions.

School administrators confirmed that a 10th-grade geometry teacher at Oxon Hill High School administered the test.

Officials said the test contained phrases like "Jose has two ounces of cocaine," "Willie gets $200 for a stolen BMW," and "Raul gets six years for murder."

A parent told News4 that her 14-year-old said the teacher also explained the meaning of terms like "cutting" drugs and told them what a .357 Magnum is.

Teacher investigated for phony test

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

OXON HILL, Md. -- School officials in a Washington, D.C., suburb have a lot of questions about a phony test given to some high school students.

Prince George's County school officials are apologizing to parents for the test that included questions about drugs, crime and weapons.

Officials say a tenth-grade geometry teacher at Oxon Hill High School administered what is being called a "fake math proficiency test." It contained math word problems beginning with phrases like "Jose has two ounces of cocaine," "Willie gets $200 for a stolen BMW," and "Raul gets six years for murder."

4. it reminds of a story I saw on the Onion...
about how inner city kids were not picking up the metric system at all except in the area of volume and weight measurements; they all knew how to convert grams to kilos, etc. pretty funny.

But if my kids were getting taught about "cutting drugs" at schools I would definately be pissed
