Schwarzenegger vetoes bills to prevent outsourcing of jobs
SACRAMENTO (AP) - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed legislation Wednesday that attempted to prevent the outsourcing of California jobs to foreign countries, claiming the measures would erect "artificial barriers" to economic growth.

"There is a right way and a wrong way to expand economic opportunity in California," he said in a statement on one of the three vetoed bills. "The wrong approach is to implement measures that restrict trade, invite retaliation or violate the United States Constitution or our foreign trade agreement."

The vetoes were immediately praised by Republicans and the California Chamber of Commerce, which called the legislation "job killers." But Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, D-Los Angeles, said the vetoes would send the "wrong message to Californians who look to Sacramento for job protection."

"The governor had a choice: Protect hardworking Californians or protect multinational corporations. He chose wrongly," Nunez said. "Now the people's tax dollars will continue to support jobs in India and Mexico."

arnold is quickly climbing the ranks to be the next *.
making powerful speeches with nice sound bites, and then he goes and accepts special interest money, makes closed-door deals with corporations, and kills things that would help, claiming they don't.

12. Surgeon operates in USA patient, from australia..ALL jobs can be sent over
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 02:44 AM by oscar111
sent overseas.

==surgery, using net cameras and robotic hands, enabled aussie surgeon to operate on a patient here.

robotic hands now make ALL jobs outsourcable . eg, those robotic arms welding cars in Detroit, are the type of robots that can foster outsourcing any job.

The slums of india can now do all our jobs cheaper than we can.

tell all "bush gives tax breaks for outsourcing jobs"

and

"YOUR job can be sent to the slums of India"
=====================
READ IF YOU HAVE TIME, a postscript.....=====
burgers can be flipped by those robotic arms and internet cameras...

====even now, garbage trucks in places, have robotic arms to pluck and empty standardized home trash cans into the truck , operated by one driverman. So dont think you will always have some low level job here.
"6 billionaires, 6 billion starving" is the republican utopia for earth.

18. uses biased study to justify this betrayal

Many of the companies involved in shaping the CPR report have sent jobs overseas, and one key technology recommendation involves expanding the type of work done by a state contractor that already uses three overseas call centers.
