Houston newspaper restructures, expects layoffs
http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2366460

HOUSTON The Houston Chronicle plans a restructuring of its business that would result in cost reductions -- including staff cuts.
Chronicle spokeswoman Lainie Gordon today said the exact number of employees affected in any staff reduction hasn't been determined.

She could not say how soon layoffs might occur.

The Chronicle has about 24-hundred employees, including contract workers and outside services. more

(Yahoo! Those * job creation programs are in high gear now!)

1. Thanks for this post! As a subscriber I just emailed the paper..
to ask them to be sure NOT to lay off a couple of their good investigative journalists -- like Dina Cappiello who has written some good articles on Houston's pollution problems or the reporters who covered police shootings. Since the paper is so much leaning towards big business and Bush, I often think about cancelling.
